Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-631_22754092391_o elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_22957407039_o elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_23216875912_o img_0361_45389520834_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - As Gibraltar woke up for work, John Macintosh Hall closed the count to the general election placing the GSLP/Liberal Alliance as the party to form Government. With an overall mayority 68.03% against the GSD's 31.37, the GSLP/Liberals recorded an overwhelming victory which once again sees Fabian Picardo as the Chief Minister of Gibraltar. The results were: -PICARDO, Fabian Raymond 10852 GARCIA, Joseph John 10661 CORTES, John Emmanuel 10529 LICUDI, Gilbert Horace 10379 ISOLA , Albert Joseph 10313 COSTA, Neil Francis 10048 SACRAMENTO, Samantha Jane 9822 LINARES, Steven Ernest 9690BALBAN, Paul John 9511 BOSSANO, Joseph John 9145FEETHAM, Daniel Anthony 5054 HASSAN NAHON, Marlene Dinah Esther 4892 PHILLIPS, Elliott John 4784 REYES, Edwin Joseph 4766 CLINTON, Roy Mark 4733 HAMMOND, Trevor Nicholas 4578LLAMAS, Lawrence Francis 4565 VASQUEZ, Robert Michael 4535 WHITE, Christopher George 4324 KARNANI-SANTOS, Kim Sylvia 4314 7u3a6466_49454485566_o 2530EE1 2014-50th-Anniversary-of-the-Red-Arrows img_9459_27252730757_o 2g9a8298_48875283342_o img_9642_21276324019_o 11-oct-2017-eurafrica-trail-33_37623772922_o 7u3a5234_49336695886_o img_9741_21276142829_o 2g9a4220_48230716407_o visita-del-alcalde-de-la-lnea-al-ministro-principal-de-gibraltar_48954793092_o 2g9a4630_48713813788_o img_5114_48919807702_o img_9815_43969760715_o 7U3A2449 img_0520_36599990166_o img_9992_42144385742_o img_0748_38822717030_o img_0580_35671107243_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-96_29524283771_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-4_30874491721_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-20_30846307522_o 9-de-noviembre-2016-fabin-picardo-en-la-feria-internacional-del-bunkering-ibia-23_30247379744_o tom-lackey-acrobata-aereo-de-94-anos-en-gibraltar-10102014-06_15329668727_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29845564652_o tom-lackey-acrobata-aereo-de-94-anos-en-gibraltar-10102014-13_15516254545_o The Gibraltar Music Festival 2g9a2887_27668842426_o img_2986_25158098751_o img_8957_24113979719_o img_3829_20736340860_o 9-septiembre-15-national-day-2015-71_21112746168_o 2019-agosto-2015-celebracin-del-centenario-del-nacimiento-de-sir-joshua-hassan_20682434616_o img_8342_21310997942_o gibraltar-evacuation-dsc_3778_17816623140_o 75-years-gibraltar-honouring-generation-35_17560729205_o gibraltar-evacuation-dsc_3850_18005019881_o 1_7U3A4558 img_4270_20531038312_o 7u3a6914_51342695871_o GIB-20230506-045-Coronation Gun Salute
