Vistas de Gibraltar 180607 - Gibraltar realiza trabajos en enclaves y en el litoral Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - As Gibraltar woke up for work, John Macintosh Hall closed the count to the general election placing the GSLP/Liberal Alliance as the party to form Government. With an overall mayority 68.03% against the GSD's 31.37, the GSLP/Liberals recorded an overwhelming victory which once again sees Fabian Picardo as the Chief Minister of Gibraltar. The results were: -PICARDO, Fabian Raymond 10852 GARCIA, Joseph John 10661 CORTES, John Emmanuel 10529 LICUDI, Gilbert Horace 10379 ISOLA , Albert Joseph 10313 COSTA, Neil Francis 10048 SACRAMENTO, Samantha Jane 9822 LINARES, Steven Ernest 9690BALBAN, Paul John 9511 BOSSANO, Joseph John 9145FEETHAM, Daniel Anthony 5054 HASSAN NAHON, Marlene Dinah Esther 4892 PHILLIPS, Elliott John 4784 REYES, Edwin Joseph 4766 CLINTON, Roy Mark 4733 HAMMOND, Trevor Nicholas 4578LLAMAS, Lawrence Francis 4565 VASQUEZ, Robert Michael 4535 WHITE, Christopher George 4324 KARNANI-SANTOS, Kim Sylvia 4314 img_3395_34112867141_o festival-internacional-de-jazz-gibraltar-25102014-27_15631821442_o fiesta-del-1-de-mayo-en-gibraltar-01052015-07_17176697898_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii34_21206095472_o inauguracin-exposicin-vctor-quintanilla-en-gibraltar_25782333821_o 2014-Gibraltar-Sea-Scouts-Centenary 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-28_29360137171_o 2018-Gibraltar-Cannons 27-ene-17-alumnos-de-la-escuela-obispo-fitzgerald-de-gibraltar-conmemoran-el-holocausto_32513356486_o 2g9a0459_26247307513_o Gibraltar - Operation Sea Snake sees tanks and Royal Marines land on Eastern Beach 2g9a8298_48875283342_o lincoln-uefa-21072015-29_19720492588_o 27-ene-17-fabin-picardo-visita-el-open-de-gibraltar-de-ajedrez-1_32513496856_o 7u3a9663_49901121447_o 7u3a5737_49425814276_o main-street-0431_39604149262_o evacuation-monument-0474_39634007481_o Teleferico-Parte-Alta-del-Penon-22 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48114555012_o img_5391_48919811572_o img_3123_40937797661_o img_9978_42144388942_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-130_38547055901_o img_8652_39910045081_o 08-may-2017-39visita-inaugural-del-crucero-celebrity-or-reflection-a-gibraltar_33895384554_o img_3554_34196603576_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-50-aniversario-referndum-10967-14_36750960840_o_36354891563_o img_0344_36479571025_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-50-aniversario-referndum-10967-22_37148806175_o_37027015521_o 2g9a4554_30827342191_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29876087291_o visita-oficial-del-gobernador-al-puerto-de-gibraltar_26088168001_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
