paisajes-urbanos-gibraltar-14_9225069476_o Gibraltar - 26th November 2015 - (Both Joe Bossano for GSLP/Libs and Kim Karnani Santos attended Line Wall Road where tensions were high at one point this morning). Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - Fabian Picardo led his GSLP/LiberalAlliance Ministers to the Convent earlier this morning where there were sworn into Government by Acting Governor Alison Macmilan. He and his team then headed to Number Six where they held their first press call as the newly formed Government following a landslide victory. Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. gibraltar-music-festival-2013-publico-y-ambiente_9699812129_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-publico-y-ambiente_9703058520_o 7u3a9340_49597082033_o regiment-freedom-of-city-0245_15252196687_o 7u3a9436_49597080963_o 2012-Royal-Visit-of-TRH-The-Earl-Countess-of-Wessex Gibraltar - Operation Sea Snake sees tanks and Royal Marines land on Eastern Beach 2g9a0902_48806239252_o 7u3a5710_49426043357_o 2g9a2617_49085934638_o img_4852-after_25762298068_o a5f2801198b538a6ef6768746b489725 img_1724_43916392944_o img_2792_38737263605_o img_0778_39877391692_o 2g9a4695_48714143821_o 15-diciembre-2016-inauguracin-de-la-restauracin-de-wellingtong-front-30_31562086161_o img_4506_48714143681_o 2g9a5105_22782608248_o img_2187_36326671424_o 12-de-noviembre-de-2016-visita-del-ministro-licudi-al-mein-schiff-25_30874577771_o img_2238_36326659764_o 98812_29416767861_o 21-jun-2016-inauguracin-puente-colgante-en-la-reserva-natural-del-pen-de-gibraltar_27556206230_o 2-jun-2016-salvas-en-gibraltar-honor-al-aniversario-de-coronacin-de-la-reina_27417185165_o 02-mar-2016-inauguracin-omisara-de-polica-de-casemates_25125251529_o 05-ene-2016-cabalgata-de-los-reyes-magos-en-gibraltar_24206822965_o Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off 85-aniversario-museo-gibraltar-23072015-21_19968757261_o The Gibraltar Music Festival Chief Rabbi of Commonwealth at Jews Gate Cemetery opening ceremonia-de-las-llaves-gibraltar-25092014-10_15354656291_o Gibraltar - 9th May 2015 - Mo Anton took the first prize at the V Gibraltar Song Festival held at the Tercentennary Sports Hall in Gibraltar.Fourteen singers competed in the final from across the world following over 700 entries.
