This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. 15-de-abril-2016-jardines-de-la-alameda-de-gibraltar-46_26440831475_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-629_22754096501_o 9-de-diciembre-de-2015-ceremonia-inaugural-del-nuevo-parlamento-de-gibraltar_23266215749_o 9-de-diciembre-de-2015-ceremonia-inaugural-del-nuevo-parlamento-de-gibraltar_23551727711_o 25-noviember-2014-cola-de-salida-gibraltar-09_15695195950_o elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_22698184613_o img_3717_34112973041_o img_3720_34112969821_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013_9703056664_o img_0404_32242153428_o img_0746_20974173734_o 10-mayo-2016-inauguracin-nueva-ala-del-museo-de-gibraltar_26868055371_o gibraltar-tradewise-chess-festival_007_12193590813_o 1_img_0061_41972488620_o 7u3a0034_50032693941_o 7u3a9671_49900812806_o 7u3a5293_49336694791_o img_6530_38924355214_o Mezquita-19 img_4560_48714144461_o dscf7787_44600541921_o img_4734_48713815358_o 7U3A2488 img_9051_37650079584_o_37651622774_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-65_31299658154_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354069183_o img_0619_36479632685_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354097533_o 2g9a5373_30961938615_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-85_29494999272_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-44_30661182000_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-38_30282248684_o 2g9a9312_29448012696_o 2-jun-2016-salvas-en-gibraltar-honor-al-aniversario-de-coronacin-de-la-reina_27417186425_o concierto-evacuados-de-gibraltar-07092015-45bn_20617814693_o 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-08_21187336825_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
