A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 9-de-diciembre-de-2015-ceremonia-inaugural-del-nuevo-parlamento-de-gibraltar_23525562822_o 25-noviember-2014-cola-de-salida-gibraltar-12_15696733287_o img_3395_34112867141_o img_0372_45202128095_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival47_14981623049_o la-galera-gustavo-bacarisas-de-gibraltar-acoge-las-obras-realizadas-durante-los-talleres-de-verano-del-servicio-de-trastornos-del-aprendizaje_23858217334_o img_0535_22525014739_o img_7589_35347377330_o 2g9a0204_48801426657_o img_2746_44839802184_o visita-platini-gibraltar-rock-cup-2014-13_13967070389_o strongmen-201373_10019008173_o img_9509_41222418705_o img_9536_28250755308_o 2g9a9878_50032156553_o 7u3a5096_49336224348_o Monos-1 img_1254_38925365554_o dav img_5389_48919603576_o img_3838_30891438957_o 25-abr-2019-visita-fabin-picardo-al-ies-virgen-de-la-esperanza-de-la-lnea-22_47644436052_o img_0266_36479574835_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-78_30927239056_o 2g9a7430_29205975844_o 91193_29496686705_o img_5117_29479566925_o img_5257_29190529890_o untitled_panorama2_29388296492_o concierto-evacuados-de-gibraltar-07092015-38bn_21052097249_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
