Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. airport-0428_24765632947_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 21-agosto-2014-colas-de-entrada-y-salida-de-gibraltar08_14803083960_o sk-slovan-bratislava-europa-fc-gibraltar-09072015-23_19382673308_o elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_23217105392_o visita-platini-gibraltar-rock-cup-2014-28_14150883892_o 01-mar-2016-entrega-de-premios-concurso-artistas-jvenes-de-gibraltar_25197319570_o gorhams-cave-3_39633657121_o 10-mayo-2016-inauguracin-nueva-ala-del-museo-de-gibraltar_26868055371_o img_4241_27855794769_o proyecto-de-construccin-de-las-dos-nuevas-escuelas-de-bayside-y-westside-en-waterport-gibraltar_27712734848_o Alameda-3 Teleferico-Parte-Alta-del-Penon-19 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48131153902_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48114555022_o dscf7832_42790062700_o 2g9a0594_48919596876_o img_0518_36599989206_o img_1925_26967034628_o img_9140_38364079431_o_24494939038_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-89_26771253139_o 15-diciembre-2016-inauguracin-de-la-restauracin-de-wellingtong-front-40_31531498352_o 05-mayo-17-visita-claire-moody-34_33659898213_o 2g9a5899_30306647673_o_31114929795_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-38_29605137485_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-42_30661182750_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-112_29314612800_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-48_22784255748_o 85-aniversario-museo-gibraltar-23072015-12_19340922304_o a-dsc_5717_19250376599_o 31-de-mayo-ii-jornada-y-clausura-xvii-juegos-del-estrecho24_14292929656_o 2g9a1633_26964556050_o lanzamiento-de-la-campaa-gibraltar-stronger-in-europe_25784870443_o img_2739_25252282835_o img_9024_24481665715_o gibraltar-300-aos-de-utrecht-1372013-33_9292015500_o gibraltar-national-day-2013-marcos-moreno16_9720356700_o Gibraltar -28th September 2015 - The Governor of Gibraltar today departed From office bidding Farewell to politicians and the armed Forces in what ended up to be a low Key ceremony.
