A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. skywalk-gibraltar-16-photo-taken-for-bovis-koala-jv-by-meteogibs-photographer-stephen-ball_41367549690_o img_0297_45202117685_o img_0022_43202810694_o img_9347_43202803124_o presentacin-libro-yanitos-tllez21_12102528806_o img_5253_33634012523_o 2018-65th-Anniversary-of-the-Coronation 2g9a0287_48801281171_o img_0797_21597307915_o img_4148_20485174504_o img_9777_21442018996_o img_4264_20485010034_o 2g9a0395_48801429432_o img_9573_42077112542_o 62032-0-07 sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_39165130584_o img_9633_20840571544_o 2g9a2577_49086663222_o 7u3a5102_49336690866_o 2g9a2051_49049238407_o Monos-21 Monos-en-la-ciudad-22 Teleferico-Parte-Alta-del-Penon-30 img_9474_44550412232_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-60_32141125105_o img_1900_40795172352_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-43_30880576646_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-159_38547043961_o 113436_28871990154_o img_2179_36973619436_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-16 img_3851_36326634674_o visita-oficial-del-gobernador-al-puerto-de-gibraltar_26062049792_o untitled_panorama2_36973602686_o 2g9a9902_27840054456_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 2g9a9917_27839929266_o img_2868_24621227874_o img_9010_24398279871_o gibraltar-national-day_002_9716549677_o GIBRALTAR NATIONAL DAY img_8607_21329798481_o fabian-picardo-en-los-cursos-de-verano-de-san-roque-16072015-05_19751281211_o 75-years-gibraltar-honouring-generation-03_17373397910_o gibraltar-evacuation-dsc_3757_18005040801_o img_0115_20352419190_o USS-Alaska-Gib-6
