181016 - Gibraltar inaugura las nuevas oficinas del Puerto 160421 - Inauguración de la nueva marina en Gibraltar para barcos pequeños Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 2g9a9364_48907565213_o 2g9a9394_48908295947_o 9-de-diciembre-de-2015-ceremonia-inaugural-del-nuevo-parlamento-de-gibraltar_23634191635_o 20150911_141347320_ios_22717478046_o img_3353_33432738523_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-gabrielle-aplin_9699749285_o foot-10_17680678492_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii26_20595366793_o 2015-Post-Go regiment-freedom-of-city-0145-bw_15253195529_o visita-platini-gibralar-rock-cup-2014-35_14150920852_o 2g9a0488_48800937438_o img_4272_20919524120_o 62032-0-02 2g9a8848_48826627341_o img_0210_29910454658_o devils-tongue-4_24765140787_o commonwealth-park-6_38925451484_o 2g9a4713_48717217248_o 2g9a4651_48714308907_o img_9092_38333502812_o_24494940788_o img_4492_48713814178_o img_9154_38333396962_o_24494938478_o img_2935_43884142484_o 5-enero-2017-cabalgata-de-reyes-magos-gibraltar-8_32010697541_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-89_26771253139_o img_0497_35671092643_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354048853_o 2g9a5909_30970849832_o_31001133611_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354082203_o 2g9a6141_30746383930_o_31114931595_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36978712646_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_28939791934_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
