restauracin-cementerio-witham-30_25451432676_o 7u3a9817_50032742641_o Gibraltar - 26th November 2015 - (Both Joe Bossano for GSLP/Libs and Kim Karnani Santos attended Line Wall Road where tensions were high at one point this morning). Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. colas-peatonales-24-febrero-20147_12757552835_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. img_0531_44297152210_o presentacin-libro-yanitos-tllez10_12101888315_o puerta-en-la-librera-garrison_17682912371_o img_8880_19953420380_o portaaviones-hms-queen-elizabeth-llegando-a-gibraltar-imagen-tomada-desde-uno-de-los-buques-de-apoyo-via-royal-navy-22_28386236989_o calpeia5_48875163862_o jebel-sahara-1-el-cnel-cte-badr-entrega-una-placa-a-la-embajadora-del-reino-unido-en-marruecos_23091556746_o 2012-Queens-Jubilee 2g9a0868_48806238322_o Monos-33 visita-del-alcalde-de-la-lnea-al-ministro-principal-de-gibraltar_48954792997_o img_5221_48919600476_o 2g9a8776_48826780442_o img_5316_48919074753_o img_3883_30891441127_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-54_32141127665_o llegan-los-generadores-para-la-nueva-estacin-elctrica_30655823343_o img_7980_42790065500_o 2g9a5320_30961724465_o CM & Franco Visit Frontier Exhibition 060619 { seq} ( Photo John Bugeja) at the JMHall 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-55_30828718831_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354046553_o 2g9a9323_29482379355_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026137421_o 2-jun-2016-salvas-en-gibraltar-honor-al-aniversario-de-coronacin-de-la-reina_27417177485_o 4-abr-2016-inauguracin-nueva-sede-banco-internacional-de-gibraltar-2_26168373991_o 3-de-diciembre-2015-bienvenida-al-atlethic-de-bilbao-12_22870121843_o Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off 2g9a2875_27090560684_o 24-jun-2016-comparecencia-de-fabin-picardo-en-el-parlamento-de-gibraltar-tras-referndum-permanencia-ru-en-ue-5_27844266536_o img_2727_24625357453_o Chief Rabbi of Commonwealth at Jews Gate Cemetery opening 2015_09_14__0022_21236244578_o Chief Rabbi of Commonwealth at Jews Gate Cemetery opening Kingston-34 Gibraltar - 9th May 2015 - Mo Anton took the first prize at the V Gibraltar Song Festival held at the Tercentennary Sports Hall in Gibraltar.Fourteen singers competed in the final from across the world following over 700 entries.
