160421 - Inauguración de la nueva marina en Gibraltar para barcos pequeños cola-entrada-a-gibraltar-28072015-07_19467053534_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. img_0410_44297005130_o fiesta-del-1-de-mayo-en-gibraltar-01052015-36_17338550216_o img_8759_19519015994_o img_9925_21441911786_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions 2g9a0527_26757817882_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions la-galera-gustavo-bacarisas-de-gibraltar-acoge-las-obras-realizadas-durante-los-talleres-de-verano-del-servicio-de-trastornos-del-aprendizaje_24190850550_o img_4630_32242470328_o 2g9a2959_49094440501_o img_4115_21097751282_o img_0192_41972495360_o 7u3a5842_49425350698_o Monos-56 img_8926_39603826862_o Alameda-9 2g9a6827_48204069506_o 2g9a8403_46634155451_o img_1031_36599991866_o img_3224_40895452162_o cambio-de-guardia-en-gibraltar-por-boda-real_42163383382_o 20171214_163712_24195067547_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-186_38490771436_o img_2394_44635569021_o img_5324_40516048980_o img_0150_42144359362_o img_3554_34196603576_o 15-diciembre-2016-inauguracin-de-la-restauracin-de-wellingtong-front-23_31305172970_o 2g9a6104_30306720053_o_31001128131_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-2_30880606936_o 2g9a9370_28860194283_o img_5041_29481003735_o 85-aniversario-museo-gibraltar-23072015-22_19968755191_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
