A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 20150911_101540463_ios_22121685854_o 2g9a9882_48907304088_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-137_22745472555_o img_3744_34086395152_o img_4860_41820469192_o img_9313_42112016380_o img_9919_43921161681_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-10cc_9703025762_o img_5259_34313385731_o img_6741_35541514705_o jebel-sahara-10_23103772252_o sk-slovan-bratislava-europa-fc-gibraltar-09072015-8_18948030824_o henry-cavill-en-la-carrera-del-350-aniversario-de-los-royal-marines-en-gibraltar-25-octubre-201410_15437638868_o tradewise-chess-festival-entrevistas-y-ambiente08_12249516844_o 2g9a0309_48801282011_o strongmen-201353_10019020354_o bayside-panorama1_48800932818_o img_0078_42877266305_o img_4094_20485244984_o commonwealth-park-12_38925458284_o 2g9a2056_48705912393_o 2g9a1068_48952340562_o img_1767_30765338848_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-79_26771253999_o inauguracin-del-monumento-a-la-mujer-en-gibraltar_31427347636_o img_2051_37021278075_o 2g9a5918_30306883013_o_31114929495_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354076263_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-39_30615616700_o 2-jun-2016-salvas-en-gibraltar-honor-al-aniversario-de-coronacin-de-la-reina_27319188132_o 2-jun-2016-salvas-en-gibraltar-honor-al-aniversario-de-coronacin-de-la-reina_27417184655_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-17_21195163991_o desfile-de-la-libertad-de-la-ciudad-gibraltar13_9858736744_o Gibraltar - 9th May 2015 - Mo Anton took the first prize at the V Gibraltar Song Festival held at the Tercentennary Sports Hall in Gibraltar.Fourteen singers competed in the final from across the world following over 700 entries.
