A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. img_0447_32242171468_o 19-junio-gibraltar-world-music-festival05_14441412846_o 19-junio-gibraltar-world-music-festival30_14463193632_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii82_21029558769_o 10-mayo-2016-inauguracin-nueva-ala-del-museo-de-gibraltar_26868055371_o 7u3a9340_49597082033_o img_9944_21441875066_o 2g9a9873_50032694061_o 11-oct-2017-eurafrica-trail-10_23803345318_o 7u3a9658_49901121107_o 5-febrero-2015-entrega-premios-festival-internacional-de-ajedrez-tradewise-de-gibraltar-20_16266642817_o Monos-en-la-ciudad-11 img_0225_43781203681_o Monos-en-la-ciudad-14 img_9636_38737419785_o Mezquita-2 alameda-gardens-6_39603355122_o P1080628 2g9a4242_48230643236_o img_4759_48714145181_o img_1542_29696563557_o img_3019_44603351771_o img_1694_43916343214_o img_9514_44600533271_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-55_30828718831_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-50-aniversario-referndum-10967-3_36334779573_o_36354892693_o 11-de-noviembre-2016-concurso-cyber-centurion-en-gibraltar-7_30800468372_o img_9523_35361469934_o 9-de-noviembre-2016-fabin-picardo-en-la-feria-internacional-del-bunkering-ibia-2_30843124176_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354052533_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29959236085_o img_2149_36973626566_o 2g9a9458_29192808720_o img_2296_36765365780_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_29484971871_o 129097_28874477453_o 27205708896_d46be6c7ac_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. img_2908_21596524830_o gibraltar-national-day-2013-248_9716861969_o img_8077_21298434505_o 10-septiembre-2014-national-day02_15201064142_o 1_2G9A0482 HMS Prince of Wales en Gibraltar
