Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-717_22730243822_o 9-de-diciembre-de-2015-ceremonia-inaugural-del-nuevo-parlamento-de-gibraltar_23525581062_o cola-entrada-a-gibraltar-28072015-17_19903012509_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. img_3410_33432755193_o 19-junio-gibraltar-world-music-festival33_14277927120_o foot-08_17683198205_o 01-mar-2016-entrega-de-premios-concurso-artistas-jvenes-de-gibraltar_25466799046_o 27-ene-17-alumnos-de-la-escuela-obispo-fitzgerald-de-gibraltar-conmemoran-el-holocausto_31742371653_o 2018-Calpe-House img_2716_45564862911_o img_0479_22903659152_o henry-cavill-en-la-carrera-del-350-aniversario-de-los-royal-marines-en-gibraltar-25-octubre-201439_15623709805_o 2g9a0236_48801426377_o img_9777_21442018996_o 251DBF1 11-oct-2017-eurafrica-trail-5_37623780032_o changing-of-the-guard-the-convent-0425_39633949901_o img_0247_43781196821_o WP_20140508_032 2g9a1161_48952142001_o P1080663 st-michaels-cave-7_39633552141_o cof 2g9a6750-copy_48204160647_o img_5359_48919810092_o 2g9a4634_48714143216_o img_3260_40043113835_o img_1414_30765092938_o img_1885_26967044668_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354092353_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-83_22784241378_o img_2202_36991631372_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_29275177750_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29876085101_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_29275181590_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-34 img_9168_26494067821_o Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off img_9236_26534105336_o 2015_09_14__0045_21235940530_o 2015_09_14__0130_21432323571_o gibraltar-national-day-2013-224_9716910343_o 10-septiembre-2014-national-day20_15014986408_o 2g9a6449_51342694426_o 7u3a1247_51681502788_o
