2g9a9406_48907561603_o Gibraltar - 26th November 2015 - (Both Joe Bossano for GSLP/Libs and Kim Karnani Santos attended Line Wall Road where tensions were high at one point this morning). Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-601_22120235184_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-243_22122555674_o cola-salida-gibraltar-2511201407_15880512681_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. ii-festival-internacional-de-jazz-gibraltar25_10382639363_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-lawson_9699915673_o img_9011_19954709400_o 2g9a0538_26246271154_o img_2599_44650702245_o sk-slovan-bratislava-europa-fc-gibraltar-09072015-32_19570599375_o img_2683_44650695855_o Monos-31 jebel-sahara-3-la-embajadora-del-reino-unido-en-marruecos-se-prepara-para-subir-a-bordo-de-un-helicptero-puma_22494866654_o P1080608 5-febrero-2015-entrega-premios-festival-internacional-de-ajedrez-tradewise-de-gibraltar-18_15832476453_o 2g9a4512_48713811883_o 2g9a0656_48919599111_o img_4170_45831075871_o img_9477_43969661765_o img_3336_40895442492_o 51_48203763676_o img_0783_39877385172_o CM & Franco Visit Frontier Exhibition 060619 { seq} ( Photo John Bugeja) at the JMHall img_0784_26036941808_o img_0132_40383723260_o 2g9a9432_32228011581_o img_3541_36982597513_o llegan-los-generadores-para-la-nueva-estacin-elctrica_31318392452_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026165101_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-88_30661163850_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37168263075_o 8-noviembre-2016-premios-certamen-internacional-de-arte-de-gibraltar-41_30843306206_o img_2326_36326580144_o gorhams-panorama1_29720266692_o 95056_29416774251_o 10-may-2016-visita-inaugural-crucero-jewel-of-the-seas-7_26867183461_o 05-ene-2016-cabalgata-de-los-reyes-magos-en-gibraltar_23578621414_o investidura-adolfo-canepa-como-nuevo-alcalde13_13581563104_o Chief Rabbi of Commonwealth at Jews Gate Cemetery opening 2g9a9640_27596421980_o Chief Rabbi of Commonwealth at Jews Gate Cemetery opening 2g9a9671_27839953626_o 8-de-marzo-2016-reunin-de-fabin-picardo-con-miembros-del-psoe-05_25524465651_o img_2768_25252236485_o img_2569_24479546963_o gobernador-de-gibraltar-edward-davis_24129248069_o Gibraltar -28th September 2015 - The Governor of Gibraltar today departed From office bidding Farewell to politicians and the armed Forces in what ended up to be a low Key ceremony.
