Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. 181016 - Gibraltar inaugura las nuevas oficinas del Puerto restauracin-cementerio-witham-24_25384706431_o cementerio-de-trafalgar-gibraltar_22744606985_o el-hotel-flotante-de-lujo-sunborn-est-permanentemente-en-la-marina-de-ocean-village-de-gibraltar_22751854081_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-732_22754968231_o skywalk-gibraltar-8-photo-taken-for-bovis-koala-jv-by-meteogibs-photographer-stephen-ball_41367548130_o skywalk-gibraltar-16-photo-taken-for-bovis-koala-jv-by-meteogibs-photographer-stephen-ball_41367549690_o cola-entrada-a-gibraltar-28072015-12_19901671600_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii53_21224373221_o img_0496_22928194391_o inauguracin-exposicin-vctor-quintanilla-en-gibraltar_25756485232_o 2g9a8326_48875082581_o 2g9a1134_48952341322_o 7u3a5855_49426046137_o 7u3a5275_49336914627_o img_4101_45831073121_o 2g9a5922_48204606271_o img_1250_36193441983_o img_3060_26064767037_o img_5366_27453593617_o CM & Franco Visit Frontier Exhibition 060619 { seq} ( Photo John Bugeja) at the JMHall img_9966_27319556317_o CM & Franco Visit Frontier Exhibition 060619 { seq} ( Photo John Bugeja) at the JMHall 24-04-2017-desfile-de-la-libertad-de-la-ciudad-de-los-royal-engineers-7_34113616621_o 5-enero-2017-cabalgata-de-reyes-magos-gibraltar-9_31980778692_o img_9480_35393044673_o img_0232_36311298762_o inauguracin-del-monumento-a-la-mujer-en-gibraltar_30656124643_o img_2202_36991631372_o inauguracin-del-monumento-a-la-mujer-en-gibraltar_31349010271_o 1_7-feb-2017-encuentro-entre-fabin-picardo-y-el-alcalde-de-la-lnea-juan-franco_31920712534_o 2g9a5156_30659673500_o img_3778_36973639696_o 2g9a5243_30925820726_o 2g9a4480_30798997992_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29959236515_o 104145_29388299792_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-5 4-abr-2016-inauguracin-nueva-sede-banco-internacional-de-gibraltar-16_26208744916_o a-dsc_0247_19440895811_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. tom-lackey-acrobata-aereo-de-94-anos-en-gibraltar-10102014-05_15493082196_o gobernador-de-gibraltar-edward-davis_24497009125_o 20-de-agosto-2015-celebraciones-aniversario-sir-joshua-hassan-mar-del-sur-18_20748573932_o 10-septiembre-2014-national-day37_15178488856_o 7U3A4845 29-2
