4989-2020_50167091832_o 2g9a9364_48907565213_o Gibraltar - 26th November 2015 - (Commissioner of police at Town Range Polling Station as he oversees security) Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. img_0301_45202118025_o img_0372_45202128095_o img_9880_43921166331_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-10cc_9703025762_o 01-mar-2016-entrega-de-premios-concurso-artistas-jvenes-de-gibraltar_24862361564_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-41_29151478040_o hospital-de-campaa_49726813671_o lincoln-uefa-21072015-19_19287614413_o open-tradewise-de-ajedrez-de-gibraltar_16199049968_o gibraltar-tradewise-chess-festival_006_12193593703_o img_4094_20485244984_o 7u3a5218_49336694376_o 7u3a5286_49336228403_o 1_img_0097_29910413118_o a76228de95cfe1d2c67ab1b73bca78b1 img_9753_21275193618_o commonwealth-park-16_39603949822_o visita-del-alcalde-de-la-lnea-al-ministro-principal-de-gibraltar_48954055213_o 2g9a4289_48230651791_o img_0286_45831068691_o img_5453_41600438144_o cambio-de-guardia-en-gibraltar-por-boda-real_40402218900_o img_0215_28318271318_o img_0778_39877391692_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-67_32102432316_o img_8934_24493383368_o_24494934698_o 5-enero-2017-cabalgata-de-reyes-magos-gibraltar-5_31288265534_o 15-diciembre-2016-inauguracin-de-la-restauracin-de-wellingtong-front-25_31562037021_o 15-diciembre-2016-inauguracin-de-la-restauracin-de-wellingtong-front-44_31531497702_o img_9581_36197413025_o 12-de-noviembre-de-2016-visita-del-ministro-licudi-al-mein-schiff-44_30874568381_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354053363_o 2g9a9435_29481558725_o 7-feb-2017-encuentro-entre-fabin-picardo-y-el-alcalde-de-la-lnea-juan-franco_31920712624_o 128110_29416790751_o img_5138_29399636761_o 10-may-2016-visita-inaugural-crucero-jewel-of-the-seas-2_26661861700_o 27-abr-16-homenaje-a-los-trabajadores-de-gibraltar_26074948123_o a-dsc_5692_19410489196_o simulacro-accidente-aereo-en-gibraltar-03122014-21_15918115396_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. investidura-adolfo-canepa-como-nuevo-alcalde12_13581241093_o 2g9a9408_27262516163_o Gibraltar -28th September 2015 - The Governor of Gibraltar today departed From office bidding Farewell to politicians and the armed Forces in what ended up to be a low Key ceremony.
