7u3a9772_50032204933_o Gibraltar - 26th November 2015 - (Line Wall Road Polling station where tensions were high at one point this morning) - Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-482_22731485512_o img_0316_45202119185_o img_0082_43872604072_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-99_29151376010_o gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-1-en-chordais-05_9225432824_o img_9889_21476750671_o default Papeleta-de-votacion-para-el-referendum-de-1967 15-de-enero-2016-simulacro-de-rescate-con-helicpteros-merlin-mk3-en-gibraltar-10_24290191672_o visita-platini-gibraltar-rock-cup-2014-25_13967080290_o 2g9a4927_48875162757_o img_4138_20841535414_o lincoln-uefa-21072015-01_19721865789_o 2g9a9878_50032156553_o 5-febrero-2015-entrega-premios-festival-internacional-de-ajedrez-tradewise-de-gibraltar-18_15832476453_o 7u3a5218_49336694376_o 1_img_0090_42877262545_o 659-boab-wa_48826285888_o 7u3a0086_50032953247_o Trafalgar-1 Teleferico-Parte-Alta-del-Penon-31 img_0152_45781930142_o img_4717_48714310832_o img_1710_36193499693_o 25-abr-2019-visita-fabin-picardo-al-ies-virgen-de-la-esperanza-de-la-lnea-20_32754310987_o img_5429_41421467995_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-172_38547040931_o img_2324_26972682128_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-62_32141124365_o img_0664_36082750900_o img_0769_35671156923_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354074993_o llegan-los-generadores-para-la-nueva-estacin-elctrica_31318389362_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36978713276_o 8-noviembre-2016-premios-certamen-internacional-de-arte-de-gibraltar-41_30843306206_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-55_29605119295_o 2g9a9833_29192603450_o img_5196_29479159735_o ceremonia-de-las-llaves-gibraltar-25092014-20_15354667001_o Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off 2g9a2033_27170661271_o Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off lanzamiento-de-la-campaa-gibraltar-stronger-in-europe_26295221642_o gibraltar-national-day-2013-238_9716882215_o gibraltar-evacuation-dsc_3761_17816381858_o 7u3a1203_51681245061_o gibraltar-defence-police-4_48859907832_o
