Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-1-02_9222656641_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-la-oreja-de-van-gogh_9699935455_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-olly-murs_9703099932_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-la-oreja-de-van-gogh_9703160194_o 19-mayo-gibraltar-world-music-festival33_14277805098_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii30_20593813854_o 1_img_5155_34443962435_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions 2g9a0492_26784203071_o 2g9a0521_26851689225_o sk-slovan-bratislava-europa-fc-gibraltar-09072015-3_18949681773_o 29-mayo-inauguracin-xvii-juegos-del-estrecho17_14311132384_o celebracin-entrada-gibraltar-en-la-uefa-05_9224807456_o strongmen-201376_10018901025_o img_0115_42877250235_o img_5724_49085935953_o img_5800_49085938123_o Punta-Europa-19 img_3892_48699660516_o national-day-panorama1_48713810828_o img_1042_36599994636_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-92_26771252809_o img_9058_38363878311_o_37651622304_o img_9019_37650150094_o_37651623794_o 2g9a5824_32383639700_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354091363_o 2g9a5186_30961474375_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36978713646_o 2g9a5396_30660430600_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026134041_o 2g9a9689_29481293275_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-39_29495040972_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27732668982_o img_2308_36765362270_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-93 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29665542870_o concierto-evacuados-de-gibraltar-07092015-71bn_21051010038_o img_9082_24455446656_o gibraltar-300-aos-de-utrecht-1372013-70_9291773504_o img_3770_20931819411_o GIBRALTAR NATIONAL DAY gibraltar-national-day-2013-marcos-moreno14_9717124181_o 2g9a8760_51680448757_o BP200031 Revista-a-las-tropas-Justine-Picardo-Gobernador-Condes-de-Wessex-Teniente-Coronel-Nel-Doherty-y-Contralmirante-Dainton
