A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. img_0060_43202818754_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-publico-y-ambiente_9699839129_o fiesta-del-1-de-mayo-en-gibraltar-01052015-28_17362597152_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-89_29360020571_o 7u3a6492_49454717262_o 2014-Endemic-2014-Flowers 2g9a4937_48875162547_o 2g9a0376_48801282131_o 2g9a0736_48805743973_o open-tradewise-de-ajedrez-de-gibraltar_15766682923_o ii-jornada-y-clausura-xvii-juegos-del-estrecho06_14312769701_o open-tradewise-de-ajedrez-de-gibraltar_16360719866_o img_9579_41403096754_o 2g9a2015_49049241872_o jews-gate-cemetery-0492_39603829062_o Monos-3 heritage122_39603308312_o 1_Teleferico-Parte-Alta-del-Penon-13 img_3834_45106519544_o img_0114_45106514274_o cambio-de-guardia-en-gibraltar-por-boda-real_41488504724_o img_2317_29697091487_o 23-feb-2018-encuentro-entre-fabin-picardo-e-izquierda-unida-19_38627527970_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-61_31331037703_o img_0261_36311291132_o 2g9a5857_32383637740_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36996841882_o img_2314_36326581534_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29876084701_o img_5276_29190507250_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27221932184_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27221933674_o img_9605_25956046693_o 10-feb-2016-celebracin-en-gibraltar-del-ao-nuevo-chino-13_24941101885_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. a-dsc_5496_19249031110_o investidura-adolfo-canepa-como-nuevo-alcalde02_13581548174_o 23-jun-2016-votacin-en-gibraltar-referndum-sobre-la-permanencia-del-ru-en-la-ue-4_27854239365_o visita-del-ministro-principal-a-cdiz_26431270372_o img_8999_23852628574_o 2919-agosto-2015-celebracin-del-centenario-del-nacimiento-de-sir-joshua-hassan_20682426726_o GIBRALTAR NATIONAL DAY 75-years-gibraltar-honouring-generation-44_17374295059_o Kingston-34 7U3A4808 img_6451_20123759208_o
