A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. pasajeros-en-el-interior-de-un-vehculo-en-la-cola-de-acceso-a-gibraltar_9460842480_o colas-de-salida-26-01-15_16193460717_o img_0369_44297010400_o img_5341_34402437506_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions 7u3a9387_49597579561_o 2g9a0294_48801279376_o 2g9a0351_48801427392_o 2g9a2940_49094630892_o 2g9a0861_48805745613_o university-34_27855823079_o gibraltar-eslovaquia10_10967672543_o strongmen-201333_10019153374_o img_9410_42123279381_o 2g9a2550_49086660532_o 1_img_0123_43064738704_o 7u3a5812_49425820816_o 2g9a8822_48826777227_o img_5869_49086444961_o gorhams-cave-3_39633657121_o img_4806_25762483818_o Monos-en-la-ciudad-32 Punta-Europa-11 img_2970_42792489170_o 25-abr-2019-visita-fabin-picardo-al-ies-virgen-de-la-esperanza-de-la-lnea-14_47644435052_o img_7178_33968356873_o CM & Franco Visit Frontier Exhibition 060619 { seq} ( Photo John Bugeja) at the JMHall 7-feb-2017-encuentro-entre-fabin-picardo-y-el-alcalde-de-la-lnea-juan-franco_31949828063_o 2g9a6158_30306788763_o_31001136931_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_29455741852_o 02-mar-2016-inauguracin-omisara-de-polica-de-casemates_24866074443_o 05-ene-2016-cabalgata-de-los-reyes-magos-en-gibraltar_24180732436_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
