Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 9-de-diciembre-de-2015-ceremonia-inaugural-del-nuevo-parlamento-de-gibraltar_23551716241_o vista-ara-de-las-colas-de-acceso-a-gibraltar_9460823646_o colas-frontera-diciembre02_12348642235_o 14-agosto-2014-colas-de-accceso-a-gibraltar09_14731944468_o elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_22696873034_o img_4658_32242475118_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-17_29439875415_o calpeia5_48875163862_o 15-de-enero-2016-simulacro-de-rescate-con-helicpteros-merlin-mk3-en-gibraltar-17_23770226254_o strongmen-201306_10019358915_o henry-cavill-en-la-carrera-del-350-aniversario-de-los-royal-marines-en-gibraltar-25-octubre-201426_15623731465_o tradewise-chess-festival-entrevistas-y-ambiente32_12249470484_o 2g9a0335_48800935673_o WP_20140508_033 gibraltar-estonia-marzo-2014-1_12955965285_o alameda-gardens-13_38736725525_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48131157062_o img_9042_26588781279_o_37651623264_o img_4901_48919803887_o img_9455_36030360782_o 25-abr-2019-visita-fabin-picardo-al-ies-virgen-de-la-esperanza-de-la-lnea-22_47644436052_o gibraltar-recuerda-a-las-vctimas-de-los-ataques-de-pars_30981594115_o img_8735_26036950178_o 2g9a5175_30961456495_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354074563_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-65_30962805905_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36978705376_o 12-de-noviembre-de-2016-visita-del-ministro-licudi-al-mein-schiff-36_30927351356_o img_2345_37163009305_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_28941929293_o 21-jun-2016-inauguracin-puente-colgante-en-la-reserva-natural-del-pen-de-gibraltar_27732842822_o 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-01_20564655864_o The Gibraltar Music Festival img_2216_27090566004_o 2015_09_14__0095_21432360081_o Gibraltar -28th September 2015 - The Governor of Gibraltar today departed From office bidding Farewell to politicians and the armed Forces in what ended up to be a low Key ceremony.
