Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. img_4810_26995115817_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-publico-y-ambiente_9699858495_o 19-junio-gibraltar-world-music-festival42_14464532725_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival59_15167932482_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii77_21029570499_o img_5335_34313414461_o 7u3a6468_49454485406_o regiment-freedom-of-city-0089-bw_15439626152_o regiment-freedom-of-city-0212_15253265190_o concierto-andrea-bocelli_48721053412_o 11-oct-2017-eurafrica-trail-23_23803343268_o entrenamiento-conjunto-balona-san-joseph-en-la-linea-02122013-24_11213207635_o tradewise-chess-festival-entrevistas-y-ambiente31_12249601656_o img_0101_29910411388_o 2g9a8848_48826627341_o img_4806_25762483818_o american-war-memorial-1_27855252939_o Monos-en-la-ciudad-32 P1080705 ragged-staff-3_27855460529_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48131072316_o img_0302_31960328318_o img_4609_48714144116_o img_4097_45831047011_o img_1234_36605111830_o img_1667_30765323508_o img_2347_25970938847_o img_0485_36082691900_o img_2079_37163099455_o 2g9a5960_30306898193_o_31001132281_o 2g9a4477_30827316651_o 2g9a7489_29750657701_o 2g9a9557_29447153566_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-19 27-abr-16-homenaje-a-los-trabajadores-de-gibraltar_26073142564_o concierto-evacuados-de-gibraltar-07092015-53bn_21050829270_o Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off img_3276_27839988906_o flashmob-sunborn-gibraltar-1411201416_15789743306_o img_2236_27628293281_o flashmob-sunborn-gibraltar-1411201435_15811531771_o 2g9a0122_26345535274_o img_2981_24883615259_o gibraltar-300-aos-de-utrecht-1372013-66_9289024145_o untitled_panorama1_21111418279_o img_4386_19916660004_o
