A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_23325170155_o ii-festival-internacional-de-jazz-gibraltar12_10382497846_o gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-1-the-sweet-canary-ensemble-23_9222675551_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival13_15168096502_o hospital-de-campaa_49726813541_o regiment-freedom-of-city-0261_15438762735_o img_0515_22903735692_o 2g9a0833_48806238682_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_28095556259_o 2g9a1114_48952341577_o Cuevas-de-San-Miguel-1 P1080628 2g9a6827_48204069506_o img_4146_45831076581_o img_2407_26972646648_o img_9283_44160657644_o img_8652_39910045081_o img_9501_42792483710_o img_0647_36342297601_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-170_24674702508_o 2g9a5888_31113492075_o_31114930215_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-73_38490783426_o 2-jun-2016-salvas-en-gibraltar-honor-al-aniversario-de-coronacin-de-la-reina_26808902224_o CM & Franco Visit Frontier Exhibition 060619 { seq} ( Photo John Bugeja) at the JMHall img_7870_23580018073_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36331781514_o 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-15_21177005692_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354051213_o img_3958_20437493264_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354077163_o 1_2G9A0498 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026134261_o 016_20318241761_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026136121_o img_6370_20350593148_o img_1647_36764786890_o Orgullo-Gibraltar-2022-55 Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
