181016 - Gibraltar inaugura las nuevas oficinas del Puerto westside_48205669292_o Gibraltar - 26th November 2015 - (Line Wall Road Polling station where tensions were high at one point this morning) - Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_22957254039_o elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_23029351580_o elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_23242691771_o img_3712_34112974141_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival20_15168446215_o regiment-freedom-of-city-0261-bw_15439620162_o 17-febrero-2016-exposicin-gibraltar-y-la-guerra-civil-espaola-16_24970501302_o festival-literario-gibraltar26_10496997253_o inauguracin-exposicin-vctor-quintanilla-en-gibraltar_25576707690_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_39843134642_o img_2652_45564848191_o img_9499_41403114494_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_39843127192_o img_4272_20919524120_o 7u3a5090_49336224583_o 2g9a8833_48826783982_o Monos-en-la-ciudad-28 commonwealth-park-12_38925458284_o 2g9a8361_46581736712_o 2g9a6824_48204161127_o img_9951_36311274582_o 2g9a4627_48713813848_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026133451_o 25-abr-2019-visita-fabin-picardo-al-ies-virgen-de-la-esperanza-de-la-lnea-28_47697574381_o img_3866_37163016705_o img_8155_42792485160_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-128_29524265061_o CM & Franco Visit Frontier Exhibition 060619 { seq} ( Photo John Bugeja) at the JMHall img_5162_28854863544_o visita-oficial-del-gobernador-al-puerto-de-gibraltar_26062049792_o img_2920_25158474561_o Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off img_2935_25251367755_o visita-del-ministro-principal-a-cdiz_25918661114_o lanzamiento-de-la-campaa-gibraltar-stronger-in-europe_26295221642_o gibraltar-300-aos-de-utrecht-1372013-67_9289015661_o 2015_09_14__0208_21423698955_o Gibraltar -28th September 2015 - The Governor of Gibraltar today departed From office bidding Farewell to politicians and the armed Forces in what ended up to be a low Key ceremony.
