Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_23325170155_o 19-junio-gibraltar-world-music-festival21_14277940020_o img_0468_44297011980_o img_8787_19953523938_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii92_21224278111_o img_7547_35347381600_o 27-ene-17-alumnos-de-la-escuela-obispo-fitzgerald-de-gibraltar-conmemoran-el-holocausto_32554447865_o 2019-International-Womens-Day superman-en-gibraltar-actor-henry-cavill-carrera-5km-del-350-aniversario-de-la-marina-britanica-25102014-03_15448392848_o partido-prensa-cdiz-veteranos-de-gibraltar-13_14732691056_o tradewise-chess-festival-entrevistas-y-ambiente18_12249238603_o 7u3a5132_49336224073_o 2g9a8772_48826249738_o 2g9a1988_49048520218_o Alameda-27 2g9a6696_48204115817_o img_5365_48919809932_o img_5369_48919072278_o img_0237_30891443157_o 20171214_163809_24195066997_o img_2021_36849699502_o 2g9a9235_29852392560_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-50-aniversario-referndum-10967-9_36750961730_o_36997615752_o 2g9a9248_29519581084_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36978713966_o inauguracin-del-monumento-a-la-mujer-en-gibraltar_31427339086_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-6_30962851685_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-8_30927293336_o 11-de-noviembre-2016-concurso-cyber-centurion-en-gibraltar-11_30282303974_o 2g9a7392_29720314292_o 2g9a9520_28856841304_o 27-abr-16-homenaje-a-los-trabajadores-de-gibraltar_26679107575_o img_9631_26558936225_o 10-feb-2016-celebracin-en-gibraltar-del-ao-nuevo-chino-18_24310517074_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
