Accesibilidad a las playas de Gibraltar desayuno-financiero-de-gibraltar-en-londres_43701680410_o Gibraltar - 26th November 2015 - (Commissioner of police at Town Range Polling Station as he oversees security) Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. gibraltar-music-festival-2013-publico-y-ambiente_9703043186_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - Fabian Picardo led his GSLP/LiberalAlliance Ministers to the Convent earlier this morning where there were sworn into Government by Acting Governor Alison Macmilan. He and his team then headed to Number Six where they held their first press call as the newly formed Government following a landslide victory. Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. img_9401_43202797404_o fiesta-del-1-de-mayo-en-gibraltar-01052015-25_17338559986_o james-foot-en-la-galera-de-bellas-artes-de-gibraltar_17494996908_o ventanas-con-sombra-en-irish-town_17656332316_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii71_21216395975_o img_5294_33601840964_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions repatriacin-de-nacionales-britnicos-desde-marruecos-covid-19_49870672461_o img_1813_44650696635_o img_0495_22917053565_o img_0555_22729138690_o 2g9a0970_48806101816_o open-tradewise-de-ajedrez-de-gibraltar_16385772562_o Portada-de-Gibraltar-Evening-Post-que-titula-¡Podemos-Soportarlo-Franco-Recorte-expuesto-en-‘Closure. 2g9a2558_49086448071_o img_0173_41972501510_o 7u3a5857_49426045967_o 2g9a8852_48826251248_o img_8405_24765365267_o Monos-62 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48131069986_o 2g9a4607_48713812683_o img_1544_29696560237_o img_4759_48714145181_o img_5427_41421467015_o img_2358_39948488735_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-48_31299662064_o img_8932_26588688019_o_38334730212_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-79_30846266952_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-55_29605119295_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29959235825_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29876085361_o 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-67_20999441478_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 10-may-2014-relevo-del-bastn-de-la-reina-de-los-juegos-de-la-commonwealth_14144585126_o img_4496_25550460821_o Gibraltar -28th September 2015 - The Governor of Gibraltar today departed From office bidding Farewell to politicians and the armed Forces in what ended up to be a low Key ceremony.
