Vistas de Gibraltar Primer vuelo Gibraltar-Marrakech Gibraltar - 26th November 2015 - (Commissioner of police at Town Range Polling Station as he oversees security) Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. 2g9a9459_48907571353_o colas-de-salida-26-01-15_15759324583_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-1-en-chordais-08_9222660985_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival56_14981747048_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii85_21216360865_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-85_28818113893_o 7u3a9357_49597579716_o img_0483_22498728747_o 2g9a0735_48806099676_o visita-platini-gibralar-rock-cup-2014-36_14153766715_o 11-oct-2017-eurafrica-trail-25_37623775212_o 1_Teleferico-Parte-Alta-del-Penon-13 img_5374_48919072148_o img_1695_36861635421_o img_9502_42792483570_o img_3015_39128194910_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-91_37830946604_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-51_32141129275_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-112_26771250729_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-32_29605143365_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-134_24674711798_o 2g9a7478_29540561630_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-152_24674709848_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_28941936233_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36978713646_o 103231_29388300332_o llegan-los-generadores-para-la-nueva-estacin-elctrica_31318387742_o 118210_29462644736_o 2-jun-2016-salvas-en-gibraltar-honor-al-aniversario-de-coronacin-de-la-reina_27417184655_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-40 img_9529_26492984791_o visita-oficial-del-gobernador-al-puerto-de-gibraltar_26154508745_o 02-mar-2016-inauguracin-omisara-de-polica-de-casemates_24866074443_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
