restauracin-cementerio-witham-10_25384698391_o 2g9a9923_48907836361_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. con-motivo-del-da-nacional-de-gibraltar-10-de-septiembre-todos-los-escaparates-de-gibraltar-se-visten-de-blanco-y-rojo_22552710360_o 7u3a9762_50032204998_o gibraltar-en-el-cuarto-comit-de-la-onu_30271420747_o el-ministro-principal-fabian-picardo-i_14009911876_o Gibraltar - 24.02.2014 - MARCOS MORENO - Colas peatonlaes de 2 horas para salir de la aduana de Gibraltar a España. fiesta-del-1-de-mayo-en-gibraltar-01052015-37_17362589882_o img_0539_44297152980_o img_5219_34284273242_o 27-ene-17-alumnos-de-la-escuela-obispo-fitzgerald-de-gibraltar-conmemoran-el-holocausto_31710467764_o img_6796_34732167233_o 7u3a6507_49454012493_o 2013-HRH-Prince-George-of-Cambridge 15-de-enero-2016-simulacro-de-rescate-con-helicpteros-merlin-mk3-en-gibraltar-13_23771645703_o img_9570_27252706847_o 2g9a0968_48806101841_o beaches-3_24765383487_o Monos-19 Southport-gates-4 img_5161_48919068648_o img_5332_48919073073_o img_3004_44603357731_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354045423_o img_2685_24884718259_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026137331_o 7-feb-2017-encuentro-entre-fabin-picardo-y-el-alcalde-de-la-lnea-juan-franco_31949828283_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-38_29605137485_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-73_29314644140_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-47_29495035972_o 2g9a5313_30845032112_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-100_29494991892_o visita-oficial-del-gobernador-al-puerto-de-gibraltar_25881620910_o 10-feb-2016-celebracin-en-gibraltar-del-ao-nuevo-chino-27_24645635670_o a-dsc_5928_19430206242_o a-dsc_5994_19250284009_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 2g9a9894_27773284712_o img_3282_27839988676_o img_2727_24625357453_o img_2568_25106397615_o gibraltar-300-aos-de-utrecht-1372013-68_9291788998_o img_8589_20700535283_o nuevo-gobernador-de-gibraltar01_11312428915_o 1_7U3A4629 Royal Navy Gibraltar Squadron with four boats at sea.
