Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. img_0416_44297004480_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii14_21029726639_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. img_3386_33432759213_o img_9005_19954634848_o intercambio-cultural-entre-gibraltar-y-cdiz_42896484851_o img_2700_44839794484_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_38976509915_o sk-slovan-bratislava-europa-fc-gibraltar-09072015-21_19544475136_o celebracin-entrada-gibraltar-en-la-uefa-01_9224811070_o img_9585_42077110212_o img_9633_20840571544_o 2g9a9726_50032155923_o 2g9a9888_50032693156_o 7u3a0120_50032953162_o 7u3a5218_49336694376_o Monos-en-la-ciudad-27 Teleferico-Parte-Alta-del-Penon-18 2g9a2004_48706246746_o 7U3A2450 dscf7772_42792492890_o img_9049_37650098404_o_26590185969_o 23-feb-2018-encuentro-entre-fabin-picardo-e-izquierda-unida-7_25566929267_o img_9206_38309518716_o_24494935528_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-50-aniversario-referndum-10967-8_36750962720_o_37027017721_o 7-feb-2017-encuentro-entre-fabin-picardo-y-el-alcalde-de-la-lnea-juan-franco_32722812986_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026146381_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-24_30962840765_o 21-jun-2016-inauguracin-puente-colgante-en-la-reserva-natural-del-pen-de-gibraltar_27556205220_o img_9511_26493013171_o Chief Rabbi of Commonwealth at Jews Gate Cemetery opening 29-mayo-inauguracin-xvii-juegos-del-estrecho11_14309883432_o 2g9a9621_27839969556_o 8-de-marzo-2016-reunin-de-fabin-picardo-con-miembros-del-psoe-13_25498502652_o 2g9a2122_26635255324_o visita-del-ministro-principal-a-cdiz_25918674074_o img_1452_24347196224_o GIBRALTAR NATIONAL DAY gobernador-de-gibraltar-edward-davis_24470813386_o 9-septiembre-15-national-day-2015-73_21112529100_o ceremonia-75-anos-evacuacion-gibraltar-22052015-08_17372613394_o 3_50824446263_o 75-years-gibraltar-honouring-generation-13_17534537496_o img_3823_5_4_adjust_20353695029_o BP200031 2g9a8731_51681914979_o 20220911_21-GUN-SALUTE_143
