A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. cola-salida-gibraltar-2511201407_15880512681_o img_3353_33432738523_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-lawson_9699900669_o fiesta-del-1-de-mayo-en-gibraltar-01052015-12_17364489585_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii31_21190233916_o img_9026_20134649532_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions 01-mar-2016-entrega-de-premios-concurso-artistas-jvenes-de-gibraltar_25492907175_o img_6618_35502333506_o repatriacin-de-nacionales-britnicos-desde-marruecos-covid-19_49870672261_o 2018-HMS-Queen-Elizabeth proyecto-de-construccin-de-las-dos-nuevas-escuelas-de-bayside-y-westside-en-waterport-gibraltar_27712734618_o img_0481_22524943749_o intercambio-cultural-entre-gibraltar-y-cdiz_41086200300_o 7u3a9971_50032627151_o img_2683_44650695855_o cable-car-to-top-of-the-rock_24765559447_o 2g9a4739_48717726667_o img_2396_43726224855_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48114554022_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-27_32022607631_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-50-aniversario-referndum-10967-26_36750954840_o_37027014961_o img_0590_36311364382_o img_0781_35671157743_o 9-de-noviembre-2016-fabin-picardo-en-la-feria-internacional-del-bunkering-ibia-15_30843119206_o 2g9a9666_29372757102_o 130766_28871966494_o visita-oficial-del-gobernador-al-puerto-de-gibraltar_26154504055_o 09-feb-2016-simulacro-de-incidente-en-el-aeropuerto-de-gibraltar_24821641881_o 85-aniversario-museo-gibraltar-23072015-02_19963609685_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
