sector-juego-online-ladboke-gibraltar-06_9225063792_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-571_22556410350_o Gibraltar - 26th November 2015 - (Both Joe Bossano for GSLP/Libs and Kim Karnani Santos attended Line Wall Road where tensions were high at one point this morning). Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_22957381509_o img_2635_45564819441_o img_0429_45202145845_o img_9898_21441944136_o gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-1-en-chordais-03_9222655849_o concierto-andrea-bocelli_48721053187_o 17-febrero-2016-exposicin-gibraltar-y-la-guerra-civil-espaola-41_25062302416_o 2g9a3003_49094442191_o 2019-Gibraltar-Luxembourg-Joint-Issue 2g9a0845_48805745823_o 2g9a0400_48800937018_o university-26_27855820239_o partido-prensa-cdiz-veteranos-de-gibraltar-04_14755675155_o 7u3a5725_49425345883_o img_9541_28250753598_o Punta-Europa-11 img_9753_21275193618_o st-michaels-cave-3_38737125405_o img_5365_48919809932_o 2g9a8415_46581734862_o img_2984_30732455698_o img_3068_26064763047_o 23-feb-2018-encuentro-entre-fabin-picardo-e-izquierda-unida-4_25566929487_o 08-may-2017-35visita-inaugural-del-crucero-celebrity-or-reflection-a-gibraltar_34353145880_o 5-enero-2017-cabalgata-de-reyes-magos-gibraltar-2_32129389905_o img_0411_36082680990_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36978713046_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-23_28979583374_o 2g9a6028_31113411055_o_30294465054_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-29_30927275856_o 9-de-noviembre-2016-fabin-picardo-en-la-feria-internacional-del-bunkering-ibia-28_30243927643_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29332130534_o 2g9a9299_29373774632_o concierto-evacuados-de-gibraltar-07092015-40bn_20616257084_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
