A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. cueva-de-st-michael-gibraltar_22124499443_o paisajes-urbanos-gibraltar-07_9225055826_o 7u3a9757_50033001332_o monos-zona-alta-del-pen-con-turistas-05_9222294267_o img_3719_34112970991_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-olly-murs_9699875061_o miembros-del-jurado_14029877671_o 10-mayo-2016-inauguracin-nueva-ala-del-museo-de-gibraltar_26868057861_o 10-mayo-2016-inauguracin-nueva-ala-del-museo-de-gibraltar_26902335286_o 7u3a9340_49597082033_o img_5173_34284279892_o img_2738_44650724685_o 2g9a2989_49093919253_o festival-literario-gibraltar19_10497051293_o Papeleta-de-votacion-para-el-referendum-de-1967 11-oct-2017-eurafrica-trail-19_37398192530_o strongmen-201325_10019328873_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_39165069214_o 7u3a9596_49900813381_o img_0143_41972962320_o 2g9a6749_48204070016_o img_1501_43916113764_o img_9188_38364315021_o_37651611454_o img_3549_37604622506_o OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA img_1165_36830716112_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-30_31299668154_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354055043_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-63_29605110545_o img_2100_36349107473_o llegan-los-generadores-para-la-nueva-estacin-elctrica_31427019116_o 2g9a5187_30961477885_o 109651_29207860900_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-26_20566260613_o ceremonia-de-las-llaves-gibraltar-25092014-06_15357849985_o Gibraltar - 9th May 2015 - Mo Anton took the first prize at the V Gibraltar Song Festival held at the Tercentennary Sports Hall in Gibraltar.Fourteen singers competed in the final from across the world following over 700 entries.
