Primer vuelo Gibraltar-Marrakech desayuno-financiero-de-gibraltar-en-londres_30577174417_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. colas-coches-gibraltar-febrero-2014-4_12614404513_o img_0339_45202116835_o 10-mayo-2016-inauguracin-nueva-ala-del-museo-de-gibraltar_26868057221_o gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-1-en-chordais-03_9222655849_o img_5226_34284271002_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions Gibraltar - Operation Sea Snake sees tanks and Royal Marines land on Eastern Beach img_9945_21476673281_o img_9619_41403080144_o 2g9a0680_48806238132_o alameda-gardens-3_27855287699_o 62032-0-11 2g9a4273_48230654131_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_39843315842_o 2g9a4595_48714308182_o entrenamiento-conjunto-balona-san-joseph-en-la-linea-02122013-marcos-moreno-5_11213352993_o img_2919_44603352141_o gib-view-4_25761641128_o img_2970_42792489170_o img_4539_48714143481_o img_1034_36599992496_o img_9477_43969661765_o img_9172_38364384271_o_37651613034_o img_9640_44160806224_o img_9175_38364380041_o_37651612754_o img_9501_42792483710_o 1_17-feb-2017-visita-a-gibraltar-del-alcalde-de-chiclana-jos-mara-romn-y-rueda-de-prensa-con-fabin-picardo_32217921762_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354077163_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-70_29605102005_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026146011_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-54_25326927199_o 2g9a4483_30279112433_o img_5180_28854813344_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27221948704_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
