Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-2-yasmin-levy-mediterranean-andalusian-orchestra-ashkelon-31_9225499336_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival53_15167947472_o img_6810_35154403690_o 2013-Old-Gibraltar-Views-III 7u3a6452_49454486021_o jebel-sahara-10_23103772252_o Gibraltar - Operation Sea Snake sees tanks and Royal Marines land on Eastern Beach 2g9a0339_48801281656_o visita-platini-gibraltar-rock-cup-2014-26_14153731595_o 2g9a0476_48801429882_o gibraltar-tradewise-chess-festival_003_12193958386_o 7u3a5266_49336226818_o 2g9a8860_48826781807_o 2g9a2055_49049238182_o cruise-liners-9_25762305848_o P1080798 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48131093373_o img_4677_48714310347_o reunin-del-ministro-principal-con-susana-daz-en-sevilla_25021138507_o img_4708_48714310862_o img_7275_34614749052_o img_9546_44550414532_o 5-enero-2017-cabalgata-de-reyes-magos-gibraltar-27_31980774462_o img_2395_40800648062_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-65_30962805905_o img_3855_36326631584_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27834012295_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27834024555_o visita-oficial-del-gobernador-al-puerto-de-gibraltar_25881619100_o desfile-de-la-libertad-de-la-ciudad-gibraltar03_9858751034_o img_5990_25376580433_o 8-de-marzo-2016-reunin-de-fabin-picardo-con-miembros-del-psoe-11_25321521120_o img_2693_24621549314_o img_4014_20873269049_o despedida-del-gobernador-de-gibraltar-13112013-marcos-moreno18_10967352243_o img_7670_21298712525_o Portaaviones HMS Queen Elizabeth en Gibraltar BP200031 Orgullo-Gibraltar-2022-21-Ministro-Principal fabian-picardo7_9939698073_o
