Vistas de Gibraltar 20150911_133313707_ios_22754398491_o Gibraltar - 26th November 2015 - (Commissioner of police at Town Range Polling Station as he oversees security) Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. img_8538_20084701645_o 20150911_152237981_ios_22122930873_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. colas-frontera-de-gibraltar-11-noviembre-20142_15144681703_o img_4011_16075876857_o img_9332_28984556927_o notre-dame-1_44296998490_o img_0517_44297150470_o ii-festival-internacional-de-jazz-gibraltar21_10382440774_o ii-festival-internacional-de-jazz-gibraltar28_10382635413_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-42_29151475390_o gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-1-the-sweet-canary-ensemble-45_9222695543_o lincoln-uefa-21072015-35_19882290086_o portaaviones-hms-queen-elizabeth-llegando-a-gibraltar-imagen-tomada-desde-uno-de-los-buques-de-apoyo-via-royal-navy-17_40133900942_o img_9648_21276312789_o Gibraltar - Operation Sea Snake sees tanks and Royal Marines land on Eastern Beach concierto-andrea-bocelli_48721053107_o Mezquita-29 2g9a0778_48806237132_o San-Michaels-Medium 1_img_0082_43733183022_o img_5294_41600446064_o img_0240_43781199221_o 08-may-2017-37visita-inaugural-del-crucero-celebrity-or-reflection-a-gibraltar_34737757105_o 2g9a1068_48952340562_o OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA Aerial view of the urban town centre population of Gibraltar.Photo by Cpl Scott Robertson RAFCommand Photographer British Forces Gibraltar 5-enero-2017-cabalgata-de-reyes-magos-gibraltar-24_31980775222_o 2g9a4630_48713813788_o img_0704_35671153383_o img_1817_36605211090_o 2g9a9373_30063583601_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-102_26771251919_o 2g9a4600_30827333101_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-145_26771238589_o img_5140_28855039054_o festival-internacional-de-la-cancin-de-gibraltar-2015_17503353771_o 000-a-dsc_6137_19430424422_o flashmob-sunborn-gibraltar-1411201418_15628569190_o visita-del-ministro-principal-a-cdiz_26457518911_o gobernador-de-gibraltar-edward-davis_24470816456_o gibraltar-national-day_029_9719738444_o 3319-agosto-2015-celebracin-del-centenario-del-nacimiento-de-sir-joshua-hassan_20086099304_o despedida-del-gobernador-de-gibraltar-13112013-marcos-moreno16_10967285894_o ceremonia-75-anos-evacuacion-gibraltar-22052015-29_17807361158_o 1_7U3A4578 fabian-picardo2_9939590636_o
