conferencia-sobre-telecomunicaciones-de-la-commonwealth_38590499430_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-571_22556410350_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. lanchas-policia-gibraltar-_9222240553_o monumento-aeropuerto-_9225056926_o 20150911_132759391_ios_22729584052_o monos-en-la-ciudad-01_9225087546_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-670_22717409776_o 9-de-diciembre-de-2015-ceremonia-inaugural-del-nuevo-parlamento-de-gibraltar_23608019606_o colas-frontera-diciembre06_12348802223_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii46_21029647329_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-87_29360025661_o img_5304_33601839324_o default 27-ene-17-fabin-picardo-visita-el-open-de-gibraltar-de-ajedrez-9_32401769442_o img_2584_30623744547_o visita-platini-gibraltar-rock-cup-2014-04_14153901774_o img_0797_21597307915_o entrenamiento-conjunto-balona-san-joseph-en-la-linea-02122013-10_11213213285_o img_9562_24765470447_o 1_Teleferico-Parte-Alta-del-Penon-12 2g9a4653_48714308867_o img_0304_45831074471_o 2g9a4696_48714140606_o untitled_pnorama1_43969649045_o img_2391_43726234495_o img_7224_34644935861_o img_4256_36329336034_o 15-diciembre-2016-inauguracin-de-la-restauracin-de-wellingtong-front-24_31562037491_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-50-aniversario-referndum-10967-17_37148807075_o_37027016311_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-44_29495037662_o 2g9a6022_30306929603_o_31001130731_o 11-de-noviembre-2016-concurso-cyber-centurion-en-gibraltar-7_30800468372_o 2g9a9505_28859389643_o 2g9a9686_29481296705_o 89098_28871964064_o visita-oficial-del-gobernador-al-puerto-de-gibraltar_25551863003_o 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-49_20564694524_o 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-67_20999441478_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. a-dsc_5591_19249022610_o 2g9a0152_26856604832_o img_4520_25643108685_o Gibraltar -28th September 2015 - The Governor of Gibraltar today departed From office bidding Farewell to politicians and the armed Forces in what ended up to be a low Key ceremony.
