restauracin-cementerio-witham-13_25359117402_o restauracin-cementerio-witham-7_25110008999_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 2g9a9859_48908037587_o vista-ara-de-las-colas-de-acceso-a-gibraltar_9460823646_o Gibraltar - 26th November 2015 - (Both Joe Bossano for GSLP/Libs and Kim Karnani Santos attended Line Wall Road where tensions were high at one point this morning). Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. 14-agosto-2014-colas-de-accceso-a-gibraltar09_14731944468_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival24_14981771460_o elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_22957513619_o img_5230_34313391881_o elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_23216999332_o img_5304_33601839324_o img_0279_45389528714_o 2015-Europa-2015-Old-Toys Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions img_0746_20974173734_o MM180007 2g9a2995_49093919133_o superman-en-gibraltar-actor-henry-cavill-carrera-5km-del-350-aniversario-de-la-marina-britanica-25102014-04_15013761304_o 2012-Endangered-Animals-II 2g9a0462_48801283976_o 26-julio-2014-partido-prensa-cdiz-veteranos-de-gibraltar-19_14569020119_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_39876333231_o img_9515_41403110184_o 2g9a1974_49048523953_o img_9656_38737427045_o WP_20140508_026 commonwealth-park-13_24765485867_o 1_Teleferico-Parte-Alta-del-Penon-5 img_4554_48714144486_o 24-04-2017-desfile-de-la-libertad-de-la-ciudad-de-los-royal-engineers-6_34113616971_o 25-abr-2019-visita-fabin-picardo-al-ies-virgen-de-la-esperanza-de-la-lnea-1_47644435502_o img_9466_44160742804_o img_9465_36197424905_o img_9596_31008268158_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-23_28979583374_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36770640290_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-31_30282253144_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37168291795_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_28941941903_o 000-a-dsc_6110_19250563949_o 2g9a9647_27773228262_o 2g9a0177_26951080795_o img_2693_24621549314_o gobernador-de-gibraltar-edward-davis_23868808864_o gibraltar-national-day_023_9716516687_o Remembrance Sunday Service at the Cross of Sacrifice, Gibraltar. img_4460_20512567916_o 32.1-2021 Orgullo-Gibraltar-2022-17-Ministro-Principal-y-Samantha-Sacramento
