A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. default colas-de-salida-26-01-15_15759324583_o img_4863_41820468852_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-la-oreja-de-van-gogh_9703170726_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-olly-murs_9699873395_o 17-febrero-2016-exposicin-gibraltar-y-la-guerra-civil-espaola-18_24970498362_o img_5284_33601843274_o default img_0685_21410198539_o 15-de-enero-2016-simulacro-de-rescate-con-helicpteros-merlin-mk3-en-gibraltar-04_23771648983_o celebracin-entrada-gibraltar-en-la-uefa-08_9222038823_o 2g9a0324_48801427882_o strongmen-201383_10018796664_o 2g9a0381_48801428202_o 7u3a5230_49336227498_o university-23_27855821359_o main-street-0434_38925640224_o 2g9a0669_48919068688_o 7U3A2488 img_4901_48919803887_o img_1717_43916396634_o scounting-for-girls-at-mtv-presents-gibraltar-calling-2018-day-2-by-ollie-millington-1_44833865022_o img_2320_44635535101_o cambio-de-guardia-en-gibraltar-por-boda-real_40402218430_o img_2402_26972648698_o 20171214_155709_38346299864_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-39_31992468612_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-104_26771251509_o 14-diciembre-2016-gbc-open-day-maratn-benfico-12_31527590751_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354071583_o 2g9a5973_31113360585_o_31001126141_o 2g9a7203_29207188013_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_29484972351_o visita-oficial-del-gobernador-al-puerto-de-gibraltar_25881620910_o 000-crowning-first-reaction-dsc_6105_19249104710_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. tom-lackey-acrobata-aereo-de-94-anos-en-gibraltar-10102014-17_15513090801_o 2g9a9528_27262521303_o img_3266_27596445770_o 2g9a0348_26677625920_o img_4432_25016488773_o img_8955_24454598356_o lanzamiento-de-la-campaa-gibraltar-stronger-in-europe_25782784684_o img_9007_24113055529_o img_4471_19917806863_o fabian-picardo1_9939615874_o
