A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 181016 - Gibraltar inaugura las nuevas oficinas del Puerto restauracin-cementerio-witham-28_25451433346_o 2g9a9367_48908298547_o 20150911_134012999_ios_22729827732_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-654_22717456976_o cola-entrada-a-gibraltar-28072015-19_20095135941_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-664_22120681504_o img_3778_34086388882_o img_0462_46063479882_o ii-festival-internacional-de-jazz-gibraltar34_10382628033_o presentacin-libro-yanitos-tllez04_12102585786_o presentacin-libro-yanitos-tllez08_12102571886_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-74_28815959034_o img_9872_21280341118_o MM180007 tradewise-chess-festival-entrevistas-y-ambiente24_12249046875_o henry-cavill-en-la-carrera-del-350-aniversario-de-los-royal-marines-en-gibraltar-25-octubre-201406_15624544042_o 7u3a5760_49425344513_o img_0809_21571032496_o 2g9a8783_48826624131_o 2g9a0477_48800937533_o 7u3a5220_49336913867_o Monos-en-la-ciudad-7 img_9630_43969757315_o img_1528_43725778095_o img_9035_38309180926_o_38310544166_o cambio-de-guardia-en-gibraltar-por-boda-real_41488509304_o 2g9a5862_31077419606_o_31114930505_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-148_37830961814_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27222133983_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-189_24674697198_o 10-may-2016-visita-inaugural-crucero-jewel-of-the-seas-13_26330688633_o img_0136_42144367792_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-52 img_3857_36326629114_o 27-abr-16-homenaje-a-los-trabajadores-de-gibraltar_26679027995_o visita-oficial-del-gobernador-al-puerto-de-gibraltar_25551865203_o 5-enero-2014-cabalgata-de-reyes-gibraltar-15_16221239302_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 2g9a0306_26345444944_o 9-septiembre-15-national-day-2015-50_21300652955_o gibraltar-300-aos-de-utrecht-1372013-39_9289199313_o 20-de-agosto-2015-celebraciones-aniversario-sir-joshua-hassan-mar-del-sur-24_20569971310_o ceremonia-75-anos-evacuacion-gibraltar-22052015-43_17992059702_o gibraltar-evacuation-dsc_3850_18005019881_o USS-Alaska-Gib-4 GIB-20230506-045-Coronation Gun Salute
