Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. puerto-deportivo-gibraltar-02_9222396467_o img_8405_19896404198_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - As Gibraltar woke up for work, John Macintosh Hall closed the count to the general election placing the GSLP/Liberal Alliance as the party to form Government. With an overall mayority 68.03% against the GSD's 31.37, the GSLP/Liberals recorded an overwhelming victory which once again sees Fabian Picardo as the Chief Minister of Gibraltar. The results were: -PICARDO, Fabian Raymond 10852 GARCIA, Joseph John 10661 CORTES, John Emmanuel 10529 LICUDI, Gilbert Horace 10379 ISOLA , Albert Joseph 10313 COSTA, Neil Francis 10048 SACRAMENTO, Samantha Jane 9822 LINARES, Steven Ernest 9690BALBAN, Paul John 9511 BOSSANO, Joseph John 9145FEETHAM, Daniel Anthony 5054 HASSAN NAHON, Marlene Dinah Esther 4892 PHILLIPS, Elliott John 4784 REYES, Edwin Joseph 4766 CLINTON, Roy Mark 4733 HAMMOND, Trevor Nicholas 4578LLAMAS, Lawrence Francis 4565 VASQUEZ, Robert Michael 4535 WHITE, Christopher George 4324 KARNANI-SANTOS, Kim Sylvia 4314 1_discurso-del-ministro-principal-en-la-cuarta-comisin-de-la-asamblea-general-de-la-organizacin-de-naciones-unidas_30084983446_o presentacin-libro-yanitos-tllez04_12102585786_o elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_23242640091_o img_8873_19520458993_o henry-cavill-en-la-carrera-del-350-aniversario-de-los-royal-marines-en-gibraltar-25-octubre-201409_15437128069_o img_9963_20846964183_o university-panorama-3_21280170528_o ii-jornada-y-clausura-xvii-juegos-del-estrecho15_14129432288_o 1_img_0097_29910413118_o img_9640_21471806581_o img_0204_41972491870_o Teleferico-Parte-Alta-del-Penon-1 2g9a4282_48230723847_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48131160582_o 2g9a4610_48713812648_o img_0140-1_31960316628_o img_4554_48714144486_o img_0220_45106514454_o img_3830_45781930222_o img_0182_42190668381_o stormzy-at-mtv-presents-gibraltar-calling-2018-day-2-by-ollie-millington-6_44163867514_o 2g9a6135_30746375700_o_31001138451_o 7U3A2469 2g9a5218_22782885698_o cambio-de-guardia-en-gibraltar-por-boda-real_42163382082_o 2g9a4600_30827333101_o 2g9a7217_29205869644_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_29275182530_o 91592_29496685395_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27834029375_o visita-oficial-del-gobernador-al-puerto-de-gibraltar_26088168991_o 02-mar-2016-inauguracin-omisara-de-polica-de-casemates_24866074873_o 05-ene-2016-cabalgata-de-los-reyes-magos-en-gibraltar_24206824235_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
