A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 20150911_131846682_ios_22754362111_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-703_22122710503_o 20-agosto-2014-colas-de-salida-de-gibraltar25_14800950239_o cola-entrada-a-gibraltar-28072015-12_19901671600_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - As Gibraltar woke up for work, John Macintosh Hall closed the count to the general election placing the GSLP/Liberal Alliance as the party to form Government. With an overall mayority 68.03% against the GSD's 31.37, the GSLP/Liberals recorded an overwhelming victory which once again sees Fabian Picardo as the Chief Minister of Gibraltar. The results were: -PICARDO, Fabian Raymond 10852 GARCIA, Joseph John 10661 CORTES, John Emmanuel 10529 LICUDI, Gilbert Horace 10379 ISOLA , Albert Joseph 10313 COSTA, Neil Francis 10048 SACRAMENTO, Samantha Jane 9822 LINARES, Steven Ernest 9690BALBAN, Paul John 9511 BOSSANO, Joseph John 9145FEETHAM, Daniel Anthony 5054 HASSAN NAHON, Marlene Dinah Esther 4892 PHILLIPS, Elliott John 4784 REYES, Edwin Joseph 4766 CLINTON, Roy Mark 4733 HAMMOND, Trevor Nicholas 4578LLAMAS, Lawrence Francis 4565 VASQUEZ, Robert Michael 4535 WHITE, Christopher George 4324 KARNANI-SANTOS, Kim Sylvia 4314 img_9397_43202798214_o ii-festival-internacional-de-jazz-gibraltar27_10382636453_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-85_28818113893_o 2g9a0224_48801280611_o cervantes-11 sk-slovan-bratislava-europa-fc-gibraltar-09072015-20_19544477306_o visita-del-alcalde-de-la-lnea-al-ministro-principal-de-gibraltar_48954605301_o Monos-59 Monos-en-la-ciudad-33 P1080798 img_7262_34614722442_o 25-abr-2019-visita-fabin-picardo-al-ies-virgen-de-la-esperanza-de-la-lnea-32_47697575171_o 2g9a9455_31537100173_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-129_26771239019_o img_0447_36479606205_o 23-feb-2018-encuentro-entre-fabin-picardo-e-izquierda-unida-12_38627528590_o 2g9a9187_29852397410_o img_2269_37020638801_o 2g9a5262_25325608099_o img_3778_36973639696_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-57_25326924809_o 2g9a4610_30827330941_o 8-noviembre-2016-premios-certamen-internacional-de-arte-de-gibraltar-40_30879562765_o 2g9a9546_29447159256_o img_5276_29190507250_o 09-feb-2016-simulacro-de-incidente-en-el-aeropuerto-de-gibraltar_24619511750_o img_2908_24956061190_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
