160421 - Inauguración de la nueva marina en Gibraltar para barcos pequeños Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 15-de-abril-2016-jardines-de-la-alameda-de-gibraltar-9_25836044814_o cementerio-catolico-gibraltar-01_9222238969_o 2g9a9339_48908299872_o img_8450_19461943914_o img_9345_42112036860_o 19-mayo-gibraltar-world-music-festival23_14463271234_o foot-15_17062632143_o regiment-freedom-of-city-0261-bw_15439620162_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions cervantes-04 strongman-en-casemates_9997706486_o strongmen-201351_10019169663_o 2g9a1114_48952341577_o 2g9a4561_48713812813_o img_9063_38363838051_o_38310542036_o img_8061_44600547541_o 08-may-2017-31visita-inaugural-del-crucero-celebrity-or-reflection-a-gibraltar_34353146610_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-80_38490782636_o img_0455_35671064833_o img_0557_35671100963_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354074563_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-47_29495035972_o 2g9a5892_30746096590_o_31114930125_o 2g9a9365_28857722714_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_29565260475_o img_5068-copy_29192350980_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27799738036_o 10-may-2016-visita-inaugural-crucero-jewel-of-the-seas-6_26330689693_o investidura-adolfo-canepa-como-nuevo-alcalde01_13581170015_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 2g9a9347_27262518813_o img_3276_27839988906_o img_4513_25275518919_o img_8965_23854030673_o gibraltar-300-aos-de-utrecht-1372013-13_9292107266_o 2015_09_14__0213_21235861948_o Gibraltar -28th September 2015 - The Governor of Gibraltar today departed From office bidding Farewell to politicians and the armed Forces in what ended up to be a low Key ceremony.
