181016 - Gibraltar inaugura las nuevas oficinas del Puerto Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. skywalk-gibraltar-3-photo-taken-for-bovis-koala-jv-by-meteogibs-photographer-stephen-ball_42273842695_o restauracin-cementerio-witham-28_25451433346_o vista-ara-de-las-colas-de-acceso-a-gibraltar_9460823646_o inmaculada-fotos-23112014-01_15907670387_o colas-de-salida-26-01-15_16353337906_o img_0345_45389526844_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013_9703173486_o gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-1-en-chordais-03_9222655849_o festival-internacional-de-jazz-gibraltar-25102014-29_15628311421_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii90_20595214883_o 2g9a2959_49094440501_o 7u3a9332_49597827112_o festival-literario-gibraltar08_10496954694_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_38976516635_o img_9520_41222416665_o heritage124_24764838537_o 2g9a4282_48230723847_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48131069431_o 2g9a4285_48230652821_o 2g9a6792_48204069856_o 2g9a8427_46581734622_o 2g9a83_46634164981_o img_3013_44603357601_o img_1925_26967034628_o img_9952_42190716891_o img_9969_42190714451_o img_8919_38363821211_o_38310549076_o img_9086_38333517272_o_38310541446_o 2g9a7209_29207186483_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026134431_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_29565277245_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-42_28979568994_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-33 img_5336_29370336352_o 4-abr-2016-inauguracin-nueva-sede-banco-internacional-de-gibraltar-6_26142220472_o visita-oficial-del-gobernador-al-puerto-de-gibraltar_26062052982_o 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-34_21187392345_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. a-dsc_5622_19250412239_o img_9168_26494067821_o gobernador-de-gibraltar-edward-davis_23870202223_o panorama_gibraltar-3_21431921671_o img_8574_21134047408_o 19-agosto-2015-celebracin-del-centenario-del-nacimiento-de-sir-joshua-hassan_20521939699_o pillars-1_20350196230_o gibraltar-evacuation-dsc_3595_17816661720_o entrevista-fabian-picardo_9519248282_o customs-3-aduanas-hmc-seeker_48859711446_o
