15-de-abril-2016-jardines-de-la-alameda-de-gibraltar-26_26374690181_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-571_22556410350_o monos-zona-alta-del-pen-con-turistas-12_9225073978_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-641_22754542821_o img_3750_34086393702_o presentacin-libro-yanitos-tllez34_12102472086_o 19-junio-gibraltar-world-music-festival15_14277970528_o 19-junio-gibraltar-world-music-festival34_14277950318_o fiesta-del-1-de-mayo-en-gibraltar-01052015-07_17176697898_o img_6618_35502333506_o Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off visita-platini-gibraltar-rock-cup-2014-31_14173780663_o 2g9a0217_48801426492_o celebracin-entrada-gibraltar-en-la-uefa-04_9224808220_o 2g9a0293_48801427062_o 7u3a5145_49336226748_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_38976512385_o fb25b0d5db8a7419686f3332b40edc83 1_img_0095_43733179302_o Monos-26 img_9728_21276155159_o commonwealth-park-19_39633648071_o gib-calling-panorama2_48699323943_o 2g9a4549_48714308572_o 2g9a4598_48714142351_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-31_29605144375_o cambio-de-guardia-en-gibraltar-por-boda-real_42209194441_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-34_30880581426_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-79_26771253999_o 9-de-noviembre-2016-fabin-picardo-en-la-feria-internacional-del-bunkering-ibia-23_30247379744_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-166_24674703638_o 05-ene-2016-cabalgata-de-los-reyes-magos-en-gibraltar_24124236661_o img_2137_36326681254_o investidura-adolfo-canepa-como-nuevo-alcalde11_13581187835_o img_2254_36349059223_o lanzamiento-de-la-campaa-gibraltar-stronger-in-europe_25784796613_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
