A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. img_0411_45389529274_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-publico-y-ambiente_9703080304_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival22_15168055572_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii87_21216356285_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions img_1821_31692340728_o img_9938_21281200969_o 2g9a2980_49094629367_o festival-literario-gibraltar03_10496976336_o festival-literario-gibraltar15_10496884345_o 2012-RAF-Squadrons-Issue-1 img_4138_20947115768_o img_5784_49086442546_o evacuation-monument-0475_39634006581_o Teleferico-Parte-Alta-del-Penon-23 img_4600_48713814633_o 2g9a8341_32759671228_o img_9319_31008114888_o 20171214_115813_24195069627_o img_8082_42792485940_o img_5376_41600462794_o img_9903_42144422432_o img_0802_28129707029_o img_8977_38333022712_o_24494946608_o 05-mayo-17-visita-claire-moody-26_34309885672_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-50-aniversario-referndum-10967-5_37148809235_o_36997616212_o 2g9a6158_30306788763_o_31001136931_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36770640000_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-63_30962806365_o img_2103_36973647076_o 2g9a9484_29192798260_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-101_29524280811_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_28939772054_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27221937214_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-35 27-abr-16-homenaje-a-los-trabajadores-de-gibraltar_26652408166_o visita-oficial-del-gobernador-al-puerto-de-gibraltar_25549744404_o 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-51_20566240653_o 2g9a9765_27596476080_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. el-rabino-principal-de-la-comunidad-hebrea-de-la-commonwealth-ephraim-mirvis-en-main-street_18638910712_o gibraltar-300-aos-de-utrecht-1372013-80_9291695316_o img_3802_20736452448_o img_7782_20677503173_o 2919-agosto-2015-celebracin-del-centenario-del-nacimiento-de-sir-joshua-hassan_20682426726_o 10-septiembre-2014-national-day01_15201444295_o gibraltar-evacuation-dsc_3860_17381644414_o
