2g9a9376_48908297157_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. img_0051_43202819314_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - As Gibraltar woke up for work, John Macintosh Hall closed the count to the general election placing the GSLP/Liberal Alliance as the party to form Government. With an overall mayority 68.03% against the GSD's 31.37, the GSLP/Liberals recorded an overwhelming victory which once again sees Fabian Picardo as the Chief Minister of Gibraltar. The results were: -PICARDO, Fabian Raymond 10852 GARCIA, Joseph John 10661 CORTES, John Emmanuel 10529 LICUDI, Gilbert Horace 10379 ISOLA , Albert Joseph 10313 COSTA, Neil Francis 10048 SACRAMENTO, Samantha Jane 9822 LINARES, Steven Ernest 9690BALBAN, Paul John 9511 BOSSANO, Joseph John 9145FEETHAM, Daniel Anthony 5054 HASSAN NAHON, Marlene Dinah Esther 4892 PHILLIPS, Elliott John 4784 REYES, Edwin Joseph 4766 CLINTON, Roy Mark 4733 HAMMOND, Trevor Nicholas 4578LLAMAS, Lawrence Francis 4565 VASQUEZ, Robert Michael 4535 WHITE, Christopher George 4324 KARNANI-SANTOS, Kim Sylvia 4314 Gibraltar - 26th November 2015 - (Both Joe Bossano for GSLP/Libs and Kim Karnani Santos attended Line Wall Road where tensions were high at one point this morning). Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. img_0077_43872607512_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-publico-y-ambiente_9703062508_o 19-mayo-gibraltar-world-music-festival34_14441290056_o img_2614_45564826141_o inauguracin-exposicin-vctor-quintanilla-en-gibraltar_25576706810_o img_0528_22296007083_o 7u3a9447_49597080888_o img_9984_20845322014_o 7u3a6446_49454014038_o strongmen-201356_10019007974_o proyecto-de-construccin-de-las-dos-nuevas-escuelas-de-bayside-y-westside-en-waterport-gibraltar_40689988385_o img_9579_41403096754_o 2g9a0357_48801282636_o 7u3a5812_49425820816_o Monos-33 2g9a0683_48919806872_o stormzy-at-mtv-presents-gibraltar-calling-2018-day-2-by-ollie-millington-27_44884691341_o img_1416_44635135751_o img_1900_40795172352_o 12-de-noviembre-de-2016-visita-del-ministro-licudi-al-mein-schiff-7_30661247110_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-157_38547044471_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-21_30282259964_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354050743_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-31_30282253144_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36978712556_o 2g9a9315_29448003616_o img_9596_25956055963_o Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-15_21177005692_o a-dsc_5960_19430186622_o 2g9a9858_27596510040_o img_3276_27839988906_o img_2098_27602496552_o img_2104_27602496062_o 2g9a0319_26677643880_o img_2862_24625093713_o gibraltar-national-day_011_9719769048_o miguel-verhemren-director-de-infogibraltar_21432587821_o nuevo-gobernador-de-gibraltar17_11312537223_o Kingston-31 Remembrance Sunday Service at the Cross of Sacrifice, Gibraltar.
