He and his team then headed to Number Six where they held their first press call as the newly formed Government following a landslide victory. Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii74_21028278750_o img_4630_32242470328_o 15-de-enero-2016-simulacro-de-rescate-con-helicpteros-merlin-mk3-en-gibraltar-20_23770224664_o concierto-andrea-bocelli_48720545263_o 2g9a0697_48805745128_o 2g9a3036_49093921178_o 11-oct-2017-eurafrica-trail-37_37398190510_o sk-slovan-bratislava-europa-fc-gibraltar-09072015-22_19574919741_o visita-platini-gibraltar-rock-cup-2014-02_13967081647_o gibraltar-tradewise-chess-festival_002_12193605043_o img_4799after_38737173265_o P1080666 img_4727_48714140836_o img_3845_45106519224_o dscf7897_42790051630_o 7U3A2466 img_8721_39877397052_o img_8834_24494260518_o reunin-del-ministro-principal-con-susana-daz-en-sevilla_25021126997_o img_4550_23521823708_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354063863_o 2g9a4637_30879135326_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354087943_o 2g9a4644_30827326321_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36770640990_o 8-noviembre-2016-premios-certamen-internacional-de-arte-de-gibraltar-22_30790958431_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_29275181180_o 105774_29388297642_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27221932184_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-23 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-31_20999470498_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
