Accesibilidad a las playas de Gibraltar turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-580_22121466564_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-648_22729747142_o cola-peatonal-salida-de-gibraltar-23072015-05_19937662186_o img_3414_33432754253_o ii-festival-internacional-de-jazz-gibraltar18_10382445414_o img_9984_43202788354_o 19-junio-gibraltar-world-music-festival44_14441424616_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival15_15168088912_o img_8911_19953318168_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions 01-mar-2016-entrega-de-premios-concurso-artistas-jvenes-de-gibraltar_25197318320_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_28095558629_o 2016-Historic-Streets-of-Gibraltar american-war-memorial-7756_27855782349_o 2g9a0401_48801283111_o 2g9a6717_48204067881_o 2g9a0823_48806101076_o img_3137_39128148330_o 2g9a0917_48805746283_o img_5427_41421467015_o 11-oct-2017-eurafrica-trail-16_23803344398_o img_1469_37021176745_o img_2140_36973632626_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-102_29494991242_o 2g9a4518_30280742744_o 2g9a9323_29482379355_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27834023575_o 2-jun-2016-salvas-en-gibraltar-honor-al-aniversario-de-coronacin-de-la-reina_26808901774_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-79 Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-89 02-mar-2016-inauguracin-omisara-de-polica-de-casemates_25197190150_o a-dsc_5856_18814026974_o 2g9a9741_27874083955_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
