A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-351_22557222780_o 4-oct-2017-cm-y-representantes-de-gibraltar-en-cuarta-comisin-de-naciones-unidas-6_23803453418_o 20-agosto-2014-colas-de-salida-de-gibraltar11_14964626146_o img_3374_34086335542_o img_3400_33432757723_o 19-mayo-gibraltar-world-music-festival05_14277757440_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions lincoln-uefa-21072015-30_19908523575_o proyecto-de-construccin-de-las-dos-nuevas-escuelas-de-bayside-y-westside-en-waterport-gibraltar_27712734848_o 2g9a9884_50032156528_o intercambio-cultural-entre-gibraltar-y-cdiz_42178240204_o 7u3a5149_49336912697_o 2g9a8843_48826251773_o cruise-liners-10_39603825692_o alameda-gardens-7_39633174641_o P1080658 2g9a8305_46634164461_o rag-n-bone-man-at-mtv-presents-gibraltar-calling-2018-day-2-by-ollie-millington-14_43072429880_o 2g9a5750_32383635870_o scounting-for-girls-at-mtv-presents-gibraltar-calling-2018-day-2-by-ollie-millington-15_43072423300_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-43_30661182550_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-122_38515437032_o 2g9a4556_30879147656_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-145_26771238589_o 2g9a9771_29401383931_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354076263_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27758109451_o img_2155_36973624536_o 2-jun-2016-salvas-en-gibraltar-honor-al-aniversario-de-coronacin-de-la-reina_27417184165_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
