A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. Schoolchildren and parents were made to wait to cross the road on the Gibraltar side over 20-30 minutes at a time as Spanish border controls forced the authorities in Gibraltar to implement traffic controls. The delays were caused by The Policia Nacional holding pedestrian back from crossing to their Customs zone. img_8968_20142761145_o Gibraltar - Albert Hammonds in Concert 7u3a9328_49597829337_o 27-ene-17-alumnos-de-la-escuela-obispo-fitzgerald-de-gibraltar-conmemoran-el-holocausto_32513359576_o img_6709_35154396580_o 7u3a6460_49454013673_o 7u3a6487_49454013093_o Gibraltar - Operation Sea Snake sees tanks and Royal Marines land on Eastern Beach 2g9a0559_26817621986_o 2g9a2944_49094440886_o 2g9a8344_48875082121_o 31-de-mayo-ii-jornada-y-clausura-xvii-juegos-del-estrecho27_14129463140_o 2g9a0579_48801429447_o img_4107_21472825011_o img_0115_42877250235_o img_9640_41222384875_o img_9662_20840476774_o 2g9a8783_48826624131_o 2g9a2530_49085934973_o img_7610_38925222864_o Teleferico-Parte-Alta-del-Penon-21 2g9a4504_48713812218_o 2g9a0690_48919806857_o img_0220_45106514454_o img_9897_42144424772_o img_9969b_27319554377_o img_0775_39737055865_o img_9049_37650098404_o_26590185969_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-17_31992470462_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354081553_o 1_17-feb-2017-visita-a-gibraltar-del-alcalde-de-chiclana-jos-mara-romn-y-rueda-de-prensa-con-fabin-picardo_32217923412_o 7-feb-2017-encuentro-entre-fabin-picardo-y-el-alcalde-de-la-lnea-juan-franco_32722812986_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-106_29314618210_o 2g9a5903_30306645173_o_31114929675_o 2g9a5142_30659649010_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-84_30962796975_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29959239875_o flashmob-sunborn-gibraltar-1411201444_15789739406_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. visita-del-ministro-principal-a-cdiz_26457533451_o gibraltar-300-aos-de-utrecht-1372013-65_9289034457_o 2015_09_14__0154_21412937502_o 1_7U3A4542 BP200031 2g9a6473_51343438654_o
