Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. pblico-en-el-tercentenary-hall-de-gibraltar_14029841762_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival49_15167960052_o 01-mar-2016-entrega-de-premios-concurso-artistas-jvenes-de-gibraltar_25466799236_o inauguracin-exposicin-vctor-quintanilla-en-gibraltar_25248543033_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-77_29331737072_o img_6682_35541521895_o img_7567_35734930855_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_39876265061_o sk-slovan-bratislava-europa-fc-gibraltar-09072015-26_19382666908_o 31-de-mayo-ii-jornada-y-clausura-xvii-juegos-del-estrecho26_14129417778_o 2g9a1094_48952339697_o 7u3a5784_49426044942_o american-war-memorial-7756_27855782349_o Alameda-6 Teleferico-Parte-Alta-del-Penon-10 2g9a8409_46634161811_o img_0237_30891443157_o cambio-de-guardia-en-gibraltar-por-boda-real_40402219780_o img_1885_26967044668_o img_2378_29697136327_o img_2062_36213050773_o img_9449_35393031003_o 2g9a9244_29519581684_o untitled_panorama1_36326038974_o llegan-los-generadores-para-la-nueva-estacin-elctrica_31318399582_o 2g9a6148_30306802443_o_31001137691_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-68_30962804485_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-30_30661185960_o 101823_29462611076_o 5-enero-2014-cabalgata-de-reyes-gibraltar-05_16221038202_o 09-feb-2016-simulacro-de-incidente-en-el-aeropuerto-de-gibraltar_24288110083_o 2g9a9640_27596421980_o 2g9a1705_26964555830_o img_9084_25955091144_o gibraltar-300-aos-de-utrecht-1372013-67_9289015661_o 2015_09_14__0043_21424005545_o 2015_09_14__0271_21235455090_o despedida-del-gobernador-de-gibraltar-13112013-marcos-moreno09_10967100815_o Remembrance Sunday Service at the Cross of Sacrifice, Gibraltar. 2G9A0522 Sacramento-1 entrevista-fabian-picardo_9516455375_o
