A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. skywalk-gibraltar-3-photo-taken-for-bovis-koala-jv-by-meteogibs-photographer-stephen-ball_42273842695_o cementerio-catolico-gibraltar-04_9225016164_o skywalk-gibraltar-9-photo-taken-for-bovis-koala-jv-by-meteogibs-photographer-stephen-ball_42273842135_o 2g9a9866_48908037137_o monos-en-la-ciudad-10_9225079886_o img_0073_43016088255_o img_0544_44297153600_o ii-festival-internacional-de-jazz-gibraltar07_10382410644_o ii-festival-internacional-de-jazz-gibraltar11_10382482325_o gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-1-en-chordais-06_9222653429_o nolan-frendo-gibraltar-primer-puesto_14034232762_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions img_2656_44650719865_o portaaviones-hms-queen-elizabeth-llegando-al-puerto-de-gibraltar-al-fondo-algeciras-via-moses-anahory_26293510828_o img_9923_20847047893_o img_4709_44297336680_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_26002538038_o 11-oct-2017-eurafrica-trail-3_23803339048_o open-tradewise-de-ajedrez-de-gibraltar_16385757192_o 5-febrero-2015-entrega-premios-festival-internacional-de-ajedrez-tradewise-de-gibraltar-14_16264863008_o gibraltar-eslovaquia12_10967499646_o 1_img_0079_42877265175_o img_9629_41403077344_o img_9654_25762520248_o img_5355_48919602286_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48114498723_o img_9494_44160766644_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-1_29314695200_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-24_30962840765_o 12-de-noviembre-de-2016-visita-del-ministro-licudi-al-mein-schiff-35_25327024399_o 9-de-noviembre-2016-fabin-picardo-en-la-feria-internacional-del-bunkering-ibia-25_30879402725_o 8-noviembre-2016-premios-certamen-internacional-de-arte-de-gibraltar-9_30578377060_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27222138993_o 02-mar-2016-inauguracin-omisara-de-polica-de-casemates_25466666316_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 85-aniversario-museo-gibraltar-23072015-07_19776880979_o 27205708896_d46be6c7ac_o visita-del-ministro-principal-a-cdiz_26457533451_o flashmob-sunborn-gibraltar-1411201440_15814981632_o celebracin-entrada-gibraltar-en-la-uefa-12_9222043153_o Gibraltar -28th September 2015 - The Governor of Gibraltar today departed From office bidding Farewell to politicians and the armed Forces in what ended up to be a low Key ceremony.
