Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. img_0051_43202819314_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-publico-y-ambiente_9703065834_o img_0472_45202130235_o 19-mayo-gibraltar-world-music-festival03_14461016311_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii52_21029635379_o 01-mar-2016-entrega-de-premios-concurso-artistas-jvenes-de-gibraltar_25466798646_o img_5255_33634011703_o 2019-Post-Go-Moon-Landings strongmen-201342_10019129985_o portaaviones-hms-queen-elizabeth-a-su-llegada-a-gibraltar_26293510508_o img_9560_28250748498_o 2g9a0291_48801281146_o img_9631_42123232211_o 2g9a2938_49094630982_o img_4844-after_38737164145_o img_5369_48919072278_o img_2919_44603352141_o img_9737_43969712555_o img_0189_28318281808_o cambio-de-guardia-en-gibraltar-por-boda-real_42163382962_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-24_29495051842_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-171_38490773486_o 8-noviembre-2016-premios-certamen-internacional-de-arte-de-gibraltar-12_30578376000_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354050183_o 2g9a9546_29447159256_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36978713046_o 2g9a9562_29447145686_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026165101_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27799738036_o img_9586_26466648232_o 10-feb-2016-celebracin-en-gibraltar-del-ao-nuevo-chino-26_24847786071_o 10-feb-2016-celebracin-en-gibraltar-del-ao-nuevo-chino-1_24941098005_o Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off 5-enero-2014-cabalgata-de-reyes-gibraltar-06_16219975601_o Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off lanzamiento-de-la-campaa-gibraltar-stronger-in-europe_26321396921_o img_1486_24884472501_o img_8797_24186268260_o Gibraltar -28th September 2015 - The Governor of Gibraltar today departed From office bidding Farewell to politicians and the armed Forces in what ended up to be a low Key ceremony.
