A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. gibraltar-music-festival-2013-texas_9703037170_o HMS-Forth-10 17-febrero-2016-exposicin-gibraltar-y-la-guerra-civil-espaola-25_24793053580_o gibraltar-feroe-febrero-2014-04_12864639573_o 7u3a9353_49597081913_o img_4133_21081603426_o img_2720_45564860431_o img_4209_20919792098_o img_9764_21457259852_o 7u3a0025_50032156148_o 11-oct-2017-eurafrica-trail-7_23803345858_o 7u3a5215_49336911392_o Monos-49 evacuation-monument-0491_24765693877_o img_4836_39603805182_o Southport-gates-8 2g9a4529_48714141246_o 2g9a0681_48919069083_o img_4903_48919066693_o img_5249_48919072023_o img_0237_30891443157_o 15-diciembre-2016-inauguracin-de-la-restauracin-de-wellingtong-front-36_31562033491_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-81_29495002152_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36978715036_o 8-noviembre-2016-premios-certamen-internacional-de-arte-de-gibraltar-9_30578377060_o 2g9a9567_29401483641_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_29275180030_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-32 Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-18 img_9529_26492984791_o 10-feb-2016-celebracin-en-gibraltar-del-ao-nuevo-chino-38_24914824596_o 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-78_21161106896_o desfile-de-la-libertad-de-la-ciudad-gibraltar15_9858828253_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. img_2923_24624841663_o img_2897_21784562305_o Gibraltar -28th September 2015 - The Governor of Gibraltar today departed From office bidding Farewell to politicians and the armed Forces in what ended up to be a low Key ceremony.
