Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - As Gibraltar woke up for work, John Macintosh Hall closed the count to the general election placing the GSLP/Liberal Alliance as the party to form Government. With an overall mayority 68.03% against the GSD's 31.37, the GSLP/Liberals recorded an overwhelming victory which once again sees Fabian Picardo as the Chief Minister of Gibraltar. The results were: -PICARDO, Fabian Raymond 10852 GARCIA, Joseph John 10661 CORTES, John Emmanuel 10529 LICUDI, Gilbert Horace 10379 ISOLA , Albert Joseph 10313 COSTA, Neil Francis 10048 SACRAMENTO, Samantha Jane 9822 LINARES, Steven Ernest 9690BALBAN, Paul John 9511 BOSSANO, Joseph John 9145FEETHAM, Daniel Anthony 5054 HASSAN NAHON, Marlene Dinah Esther 4892 PHILLIPS, Elliott John 4784 REYES, Edwin Joseph 4766 CLINTON, Roy Mark 4733 HAMMOND, Trevor Nicholas 4578LLAMAS, Lawrence Francis 4565 VASQUEZ, Robert Michael 4535 WHITE, Christopher George 4324 KARNANI-SANTOS, Kim Sylvia 4314 Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. img_3329_34202600996_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival21_15165447631_o gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-2-mark-eliyahu-ensemble-11_9222711385_o 2013-Gibraltar-International-Literary-Festival la-galera-gustavo-bacarisas-de-gibraltar-acoge-las-obras-realizadas-durante-los-talleres-de-verano-del-servicio-de-trastornos-del-aprendizaje_24486404425_o 2016-Gibraltar-Year-of-the-Monkey henry-cavill-en-la-carrera-del-350-aniversario-de-los-royal-marines-en-gibraltar-25-octubre-201421_15437105739_o img_0650_21585515842_o 2g9a4955_48874427843_o open-tradewise-de-ajedrez-de-gibraltar_16385774562_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_39876288251_o strongmen-201347_10019105305_o 2g9a9808_50032156183_o img_5729_49086443961_o Cuevas-de-San-Miguel-5 P1080599 Punta-Europa-24 2g9a2096_48706248771_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48131095178_o 2g9a0669_48919068688_o img_5292_42275712322_o img_5339_40516053100_o img_4233_36329335094_o 08-may-2017-27visita-inaugural-del-crucero-celebrity-or-reflection-a-gibraltar_33895390134_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-75_29314642660_o 05-mayo-17-visita-claire-moody-35_34309884702_o 2g9a9689_29481293275_o 2-jun-2016-salvas-en-gibraltar-honor-al-aniversario-de-coronacin-de-la-reina_26808902494_o a-dsc_5953_19248912258_o img_9232_26534108326_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. lanzamiento-de-la-campaa-gibraltar-stronger-in-europe_26387596085_o img_4490_25616963896_o rueda-de-prensa-de-fabin-picardo-y-joseph-garca-en-bruselas_27187074176_o img_8879_23852369974_o gobernador-de-gibraltar-edward-davis_23870187223_o 2015_09_14__0072_20801276164_o 20-de-agosto-2015-celebraciones-aniversario-sir-joshua-hassan-mar-del-sur-25_20748567962_o gibraltar-national-day_023_9716516687_o 9-septiembre-15-national-day-2015-04_20678038894_o fabian-picardo-en-los-cursos-de-verano-de-san-roque-16072015-11_19746601295_o gibraltar-evacuation-dsc_4201_17816333498_o THE EARL OF WESSEX VISITS HER MAJESTY’S NAVAL BASE Fabian-Picardo-2
